Baptism Sunday Matthew

Matthew 7
"Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.  For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Matthew 7:13‭-‬14 NASB
Make a decision - the world and destruction or surrender to Jesus and Life?
You need to make a choice. The resurrection of Jesus is the focal point of faith. Without recognizing the historical event of the resurrection you are not saved.
When you make the decision to follow Jesus he will walk with you. What gate are you choosing? Jesus will help you. To work in and through you. Surrender again. Pray. If you are tired of being in charge, receive life in Jesus. Pray. Thank you God for you are holy. Please continue to work in us. Jesus you are the son of the one true God. You brought life. I want to follow you.

Communion. Common union.
Bread and fruit of the vine. Symbols of what Jesus has done.

Ask, Seek, Knock

How to live in dependence on God.
Who is ready for heart change?
Matthew 7 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.  If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Matthew 7:8‭, ‬11 WEB
What holds us back? We are scared of what's on the other side of the door? We are full of anxiety. Made hamburgers at mission trip and got sick. Now always hesitant about cooking meat.
Sometimes church members are scared of the ones that study the Word vs the Holy Spirit worshippers.
1. God is not worried about our past failures. Sometimes when praying God does not do what we want. So we give up? Keep asking for bold things.
God gives us the key to our home.
2. God invites his children
3. Come and eat and drink. Have 3rd wave coffee. You'll never want less. God's feast is the best.
Keep knocking on God's door.
God promises to give what's in his heart. The big picture. Oswald Chambers has a good devotional.
MBMSI trips showed that some cultures enjoy each other. To spend time. To refresh. Just to be. God likes that.
We come to God ready to feel bad. Just sit there in silence waiting for Jesus. He will assure us of His love.
Depend on God and enjoy his spa time.
Johnnie will speak next Sunday. Baptism Sunday.

(in) dependence Do Not Worry

What if I got a headache without Jesus?
Johnny Dodsworth www.EasTview.org
We need to live in dependence on Jesus. Not to worry.
Worry and anxiety are a part of life. French immersion caused worry. Crying every night. Went on for a year. Had stress dreams. Every night.
Worried about success and worth. Even in marriage for the first few years.
Companies make profits on our worries. Do you have enough insurance? We focus on our worries. Grades friends directions expenses kids health future parents loved ones. Do we matter. Anxiety. Big deal.

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?  And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?  And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:25‭-‬28‭, ‬33‭-‬34 ESV
You are valuable. You matter to God.
Worry is useless. Good for nothing. God WILL take care of us. Provide clothing. Food. 2000 years ago the peasants lived day to day when Jesus said this.
Live with a focus on God's kingdom. Don't be troubled. Don't try to protect your own interests. Trust God live in dependence of Him. Then you have nothing to worry about.
Worry is a distraction from kingdom living. Choose worry or God.
Having anxiety is not a reflection of a lack of faith. Love Jesus. He sweated blood. Hematidrosis.
Cast your cares on Jesus. His burden is light.
April 2016 God called me to relinquish control of my finances. Dana took over the family finances. What a relief!
In heaven there will be no worry.
Youth leaders carry the burdens for the youth. Cast your care on Jesus.
Be a community of people that walk with Jesus. Come for prayer. Next week a coworker will share. Come to this exciting service.
