Exodus 20 The Ten Commandments are not so much commands. They give us a picture of the essence of God.

You shall not steal. Malachi
A personal offense to our person. Barcelona is a place of thieves.
Canada has a black scam book. The Cat Burgler. Oscar.

Possessions. Ours. Others. God's.
1. Right of personal Possessions. No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of it. Acts 2 & 4 they had everything in common. That was not universally applied. Work gift steal. Don't steal. Work and share.  Everything we have is only ours in Christ. God's gift to us.
2. Possessions in relation to others. Me and others. Stealing is always a crime. 8 ways to steal. Pay wages. Do not use false measures. Don't steal land. Revivals lead to restitution. In England there were lineups of people buying money orders to repay.
Nowadays a lot of I.P. gets stolen.

Everything you have is given to God. You are bought with a price. The sacrifice of Christ.
Make sure your relationships are right. Your time belongs to Christ. So much more could be done to spread the gospel.
Is our home God's? To bless others. You will never get poverty stricken by sharing.

Precious Lord take my hand lead me home.

"How Deep The Father's Love For Us"

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

The  poor  mother  blushed  again.  "Mary  Grace  goes  to  Wellesley College,"  she  explained.  She  twisted  one  of  the  buttons  on  her  dress. "In  Massachusetts,  she  added  with  a  grimace.  "And  in  the  summer  she just  keeps  right  on  studying.  Just  reads  all  the  time,  a  real  book  worm. She's  done  real  well  at  Wellesley;  she's  taking  English  and  Math  and History  and  Psychology  and  Social  Studies,"  she  rattled  on  "and  I  think it's  too  much.  I  think  she  ought  to  get  out  and  have  fun."

"I  think  people  with  bad  dispositions  are  more  to  be  pitied  than anyone  on  earth,"  the  pleasant  lady  said  in  a  voice  that  was  decidedly thin.

"I  thank  the  Lord  he  has  blessed  me  with  a  good  one,"  Mrs.  Turpin said.  "The  day  has  never  dawned  that  I  couldn't  find  something  to laugh  at."

"Not  since  she  married  me  anyways,"  Claud  said  with  a  comical straight  face.

Honor Roll of Faith, Moses

Hebrews 11:23-26 Hebrews 3-12
God protected baby Moses in the basket. God will protect us in scary situations. 30 children.

Let's pray for the people in terror around the world.

By faith, after Moses was born, he was hidden by his parents for three months, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they didn't fear the king's edict.   By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter and chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the short-lived pleasure of sin.   For he considered the reproach because of the Messiah to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since his attention was on the reward.

Persecuted but not afraid. 780 verses mention Moses. He came to see Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration.

Little kids in sports are cheered on by the parents. When they become successful they thank their moms.

http://bible.com/116/exo.1.6-7.nlt In time, Joseph and all of his brothers died, ending that entire generation. But their descendants, the Israelites, had many children and grandchildren. In fact, they multiplied so greatly that they became extremely powerful and filled the land.

That struck fear in Pharoah.
You are an image bearer of Christ and need not fear.

If you want to be an image bearer of Christ:

1. Tell faith stories to your family.
What has God done for you.
2. Tell the story of freedom in Jesus.
God told Abraham that his descendants would be slaves for 400 years.

God will set you free. In the difficult moments in life. God will lead you into freedom. Can you wait for him?
God's word is true.

Jochabad had faith that God would keep her son safe. She released in faith.

Moses wrote the 5 books of the Bible. She told Moses the story of Genesis. He rose up to demand that Pharaoh let his people go.

We are image bearers of a faithful God. You can tell the story. Do you want to?

Do you have a spiritual mentor in your life?  If not get one. Who are you telling the story?

Abraham and Isaac

Cathy children's feature at www.EasTview.org
Hebrews 11.20 Isaac blessed his sons. What's a blessing? Good that comes from God. A friend. A child. A gift. Give blessings to others. Pieces of paper?
In Bible times people spoke blessings to others. May God give you rain and good soil. May you be served by other nations.
It took a long time for Jacob to recognize the Blessing. Bless you to be a Blessing today.

Hebrews 11:13-22
http://bible.com/116/heb.11.13-22.nlt All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth. Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own. But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. It was by faith that Isaac promised blessings for the future to his sons, Jacob and Esau. It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left.

In the Hall of Faith we find blessings passed on from generation to generation. Not wants and needs but blessings that God wants to give us. Relationships. Career. Hobbies. Stuff. What's important to you? Some guys hang out with their stuff. What were Abraham and Isaac looking for?
What blesses you? Air? Another morning?
God said to Abraham give away your blessing Isaac. God was to be his blessing.
Recognize the tree by its fruit. Be attached to Jesus and you'll bear good fruit.
Family trees are complicated. There are voids in the tree. Complex structure in the Hall of Faith. Unlikely People that fail but move by faith. Broken people.

It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left.

Genesis 50:24
They embalmed him. 25% of Genesis is about Joseph. Why did his bones qualify him to be in the Hall? Why do people hold on to stuff? Memories. Individualism is considered to be the highest-rated right.
Pleasing God is of greatest importance. Abraham did that. God promised him a great nation and freedom 400 years later. Do we wait 400 years for a return on the stock market? Abraham believed God. Joseph believed what his grandfather said.
Habakkuk 2.3 wait for the appointed time. The promise will come.
God will give peace while waiting. Not the kind the world gives. Wait. Don't give up. Fight for your marriage. God heals. Addictions.

Isaac would have asked for a lamb to take his place. Isaac's willingness to be sacrificed was the litmus test of blessing. Jesus was the real Lamb.
A million people were ready to exit but not leaving till we have the bones of Joseph.
You matter.

Shalom

Abraham

Youth Feature:
Andrea in the Trophy Room
Have you had to change something in your life?  1st day of school, was it scary? Was your mom there for you?
Trusting is part of the Bible.
Abraham. Hebrews 11.9 he obeyed God.
If you can't see a step in front of you, you must trust your guide. Abraham couldn't see where he was going. He trusted God. God knew the plan. Now his descendants are a nation. Trust God to guide you.

Every Tuesday night we have a concert of prayer. Come if you need prayer.
We are sending a team to Shamattawa. Greg Armstrong has led that ministry. MB Mission Action Team. July 10. http://www.mbmission.org/action

http://bible.com/116/heb.11.8-10.nlt It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.

In the Hall of Faith there is more about Abraham than anyone else. He had naked faith. He hears he responds.

http://bible.com/116/gen.13.1-3.nlt So Abram left Egypt and traveled north into the Negev, along with his wife and Lot and all that they owned. (Abram was very rich in livestock, silver, and gold.) From the Negev, they continued traveling by stages toward Bethel, and they pitched their tents between Bethel and Ai, where they had camped before.
Faith is living the conviction that God is trustworthy.
http://bible.com/116/jas.2.14.nlt What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don't show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?
When we follow the Bible we see faith is an action verb. How does a life without faith differ from a life of faith? We think we have to find faith but God invites us into a life of faith. Abraham did that. When God invites you will you go?
I have to be dislocated to depend on God.
Life gets exciting when we step out with God. It was exciting to step out in marriage. Ask the parents for their blessing. That was so scary and so exciting. We fear stepping out because of the circle of comfort. Hebrews 11:11 Abraham considered God faithful. Sarah's barenness was not a problem for God.
Fear can be a place of apathy and atrophy. Faith moves us into the place where we feel barren and God can work. If this is going to happen God has to work. What are you invited to?
