He IS Risen! Baptism Sunday.

He IS Risen! Indeed!
Death lost. Life Won!
Jesus Messiah Lord of All. He humbled himself and carried the cross. All our hope is in you.
Most people would not be willing to die for a good person.... but Jesus chose to die for us sinners.

Testimonies.. Glad to make this step. Been abused - Jesus made me white as snow. Watch the testimonies on-line at www.EastView.org

When Jesus came his followers switched their allegiance from Caesar to Jesus. Many died for that.

Jesus has overcome and l will rise when He calls my name. Worthy is the Lamb.

One day when heaven was filled with his Praises Jesus Came. One day He's coming back - Oh Glorious Day!

Humanity is in a cage. They put themselves in it. Satan will deceive them into having a good time and be empty. Jesus gave his life to set them free.

Birds in a cage are worthless to the boy that has fun torturing them. Satan has sport in torturing humans.

Mark 16 1-8 several women came to anoint Jesus' body. They did not believe Jesus prediction about his resurrection. Few of his followers "got it"
Sin that afflicts us defines our identify. Jesus wants to change our identity. What defines yours? Are you in the Cage? of Fear? Beauty? Sin? Unbelief? Jesus said: I am the Way the Truth the Life. Do you believe that?

Jesus craeated you for a purpose. Jesus has the answer (key) to your cage. He will set you free! Truly free!
Let Jesus set you free today. To define you. Provide forgiveness.

Lead me to the cross. Savior I come to the cross where your love poured out. Bring me to my knees I belong to you.

Prayer of Commitment. I Come to you and ask you to take Control of my life.

I stand amazed in the Presence of Jesus the Nazarene
How marvelous! Is my Savior's love for me.

Manitoba Prayer Breakfast

Ron Schuler MLA invited us to sit at his table.
Donors helped LifeLight provide New Testaments for all 850 attendees.
Beautiful Songs by Polish Sokal Ensemble
Greetings from Manitoba political leaders
Prayers by the Grand Chief
Various Pastors
Rock the River presentation
Chief of Police Ron McCaskill Scripture reading
Delbert Enns Prayer for police and military
Joy Smith MP introduction of Brian McConaghy www.Ratanak.org Foundation named after a little Cambodian girl
Previous job - weapons specialist with RCMP
April 17 1975 at 12 years of age Brian still could not read. Always getting bullied. Kicked to unconsciousness.
That is also the date the killing fields started. Every city and town was emptied. Every structure of society was dismantled. Millions killed. More millions tortured to death.
Domestic violence in Cambodia is rampant today.
Bran's family moved to Canada when he was a teenager. Got very good in firearms. Spent time with Asians. Traveled to Thailand. Went to the Cambodian border refugee camp. Shocked at what he found when he got into Cambodia. Got 9 tons of medicine into Cambodia under the nose of hostile Communists. Started building hospitals. Cambodian children are sold at age 6 to the brothels. It costs $30 a month to support children in an orphanage home.
It costs $1000s to separate money making prostitute owners from their property and to rehabilitate those girls.
Saw 7 little children being raped on video. Threw away his RCMP career to help them. Started a secure rehab centre to help them. Found that the pimps are also victims.
After 3 years in treatment the girls want to help the children that are still in slavery. At the Bloom Cafe in Phnom Penh the girls make cakes. For the King and the government. There girls are serving the King of Kings. They are precious "to die for" like Jesus died for us.
This is not an easy task to rescue these girls.
Faith is a vibrant freeing thing that God honours. We live for freedom justice and compassion.
The seven girls are now confident young Christian women serving others.

Blessed be God.

A Blessed Good Friday!

This I know with all my heart: His wounds have paid my ransom.
Hosanna to the Highest
The name of the Lord is a strong tower Blessed be the name of the Lord
Jesus died on purpose. He knew exactly what would happen
Is it I who will deny Him tonight?
For some communion is sleepy time. It is meant to be an incredible invitation. Jesus is the host, the server. The Savior forgiving our sins. The Lord's Supper is a holy supper.
For 2000 years Christians have celebrated the Lord's supper. God bless you as you participate.
'Tis midnight and on Olive's brow the star is dimmed.
It was the battle of God against Satan. Jesus felt so alone. No one else has the power to break hell's gate. Jesus the man begged for an exist. But he saw you and your failures and betrayals. He smelled the stench of Satan. He begged God, but God said "NO". Jesus won the battle in Gethsemane. It was in the garden He made the decision. He would rather go to hell for you than to heaven without you!
May the Father's will be done.
Take away this man named Jesus. The light of the world. He deserves to die! Crucify!
Pilate is troubled. What should I do with this Man Jesus. The Christ. That is our question today. You can reject Him or accept Him. 4 times Pilate tries to free Jesus. He climbed on the fence and sent Jesus away.
What will YOU do with Jesus?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord? Nailed him to the tree? It causes me to tremble.
O sacred head now wounded.
I don't like that verse: my God my God why have you forsaken me? Abandoned? The punishment of the criminal.
Behold the Lamb of God who has come to take away the sins of the whole world. Take Away. The stench of sin. Alone in it. Sin leaves you orphaned. Abandoned. Jesus was abandoned for me.

Beautiful Savior Son of God Son of Man. God so loved the world. Jesus paid it all.
Hallelujah! Praise the Lamb!

Come to www.EastView.org Sunday 9:30 or 11:15 to hear the rest of the story.

Birthday Party

Supper at Ichi Ban Japanese Restaurant for the best tasting show in town!

I survived to live another day

Was helping on the BiomassSystem when my jacket and shirt got caught on a shaft. I felt like Tim Allen on Home Improvement when he loses clothes and has other mishaps. So I came home without a shirt and jacket.
Russ was quick on the switch to stop it all and I survived!

Today - MRI

So I had my MRI this morning. 45 minutes stuck in a small steel tunnel. My nose almost touching the top of the tunnel. My shoulders squished. Doctors trying to find out if my heart is working. I guess I'll know in a few weeks

What do you want me to do for you?

www.eastview.org
Songs: I (Renee) will rise when He calls my (her) name
Water you turned into wine. There is no one like you! Our God is greater.

Ladies Dance School: Let your walls fall to the ground - His blood can cover us

Pastor Dave Ens:
Today is Palm Sunday for the one who can bring healing. Are we allowing him to define what that looks like? Or do we demand he fills our expectations?

Jesus knew what the week would hold. The crucifixion at Golgatha.
Mark 11 What Jesus wants for us is often different from what we want. This week illustrates that. The passion of Christ.
Mark 10:36 we want Jesus to do whatever we ask.
Jesus asked: what do you want me to do for you? If Jesus asked us that what would we say? Wish for a million more wishes? For a better husband? (For Renee to come back?) The disciples wanted to be big shots. The blind one wanted to be well.
One seminary student needed to help a friend help his wife out of addiction. They had to gang up on her and trundle her off to treatment. The counsellor at the Centre said- who wants help from drug addictions? She is fortunate to have friends that care enough.

Jesus cared enough about us to die for us.

Steve Bell Concert with WSO

Kin.dness Tour. Centennial Concert hall was about 75% full.

His songs included:
Stubble and Hay with Gerry Atwell.

Steve is a wonderful entertainer with a terrific sense of humour. Andrewpause = male menopause (why not womenpause?)

Sitting outside the friend's cabin, no distractions no internet - the music came: One Summer Night

Here with my Lord who so gently restores.

His music is so comfortable that it's easy to fall asleep. Except that the audience keeps clapping. How did the French musicians on the band do against the English?

St Francis of Assisi gave up his wealth to love and help everyone. He wrote music and danced - a bit of a nut case? Child Of Eternity.
Steve's music rolls like the ocean.

Absalom - story of David. David was a good man but he had lots of issues. When Absalom died David
Grieved.

Alanis helped with the title song-
Kin.dness is - deeply internalized kinship?
When my Son comes for supper I feed him because his my boy.
Christ has no body here on earth but ours. Ours are the feet on which he moves. By what we do Jesus is living here. Let us go now with kindness.

The next number was so loud I couldn't hear any words. Should have brought ear plugs.

-------- Intermission
One year ago we had my birthday party here.
--------
With the full Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra - some 60 musicians.

Deep Calls to Deep becomes a stirring rendition that can't be experienced any other way.

Steve can be so relaxed. So much interesting commentary.
This Song came from a 3 day silent retreat at St Benedicts monastery. Holy Holy is the God of Power and might. Hosanna in the highest Sing-along

Notice l changed my shirt? I've never done that before. Always wanted to. I was here 4o years ago when Liberace did that.

Waiting for Aiden a musical piece with no lyrics. It's been sitting around fir a long time waiting for lyrics. Steve's Manager's son, has 10 fingers and 10 toes. When Aiden was born the manager gave the music the title and told Steve it was complete.

Tim Plett is helping with the vocals. The guitar was giving him trouble today. Had to keep adjusting it. Must be a bad set of strings.

Jesus remember me when your kingdom comes.

Easter - a King came to love the marginalized. This song came and flattened me.
The Son Of God came to wash another's feet. May they understand the love that changes everything. This is love.

This is the end of the tour with the band - terrific people to work with.

A morning like this - Mary rose from her bed to tend the Lord who was dead. An angel was there. ''He is risen" Rejoice. Over and over - he is risen hallelujah.

Ovation -

When your heart is in despair He will know
When your day is filled with fears He is near.
When the world leaves you behind is unkind - he will know.

Praise the Father Praise the Son the Spirit. Praise His Name forever.
He is the one to whom you belong who in your weakness has made you strong.

Feelin groovy - it's been a long time since I heard that song!

I wish they'd sell CDs of the concert right after the concert. I'd sure buy several

Practical Atheist: I Want a Good Life!

www.Eastview.org
SOAR heartland was a Spring Break outreach to Winnipeg's Inner City. Come to Eastview on May 1 and hear the kids share.

Good Song: Jesus Messiah name above all names. Lord of all. Love so amazing.
How deep the Father's Love for us that he should give his only Son! How great the pain of searing loss! The father turns his face away. I will boast in Jesus Christ, His wounds have paid my ransom.

Very LOUD offering "entertainment" song

Pastor Delbert: God is good everything he has made is glorious! You are made glorious in His image. You have a choice to feel that way. Sometimes we feel like just going into autopilot. We can make ourselves believe anything we want to. There is a whole range of masks available. Which one are you going to use today or will you be genuine. Kind or ugly? Faith or depression? Maryanne and I have agreed to let the irksome things go. Things will change in a moment. Some choices are from our selfish nature.

Jesus pushes the boundaries of his disciples. Why do you want to follow me? The true test of faith is what Jesus can do for me. Jesus is a great caregiver.
Mark 10 Who is the greatest? Salt quality - live in peace with each other. You will be tested on the grounds of living in peace with one another. Check your heart. Modify your lifestyle. Jesus is not just a great teacher. He wants to change your life. Reflect on the love of Jesus. I have messed up but Jesus loves me anyway.
10:13 Jesus blessed the children. He got angry. The disciples had tried to stop them. They were misguided. Jesus straightened them out. Childlike faith is simple, teachable, obedient. You can't reach your own heart but Jesus can. Children want to learn.

Video: Of the rich young man - he heard Jesus then Peter ran after him to try to convince him to obey Jesus. He left, not willing to give up his treasures and his Jaguar.

We know how to ask the right questions but are often unwilling to give up earthly values. It's who you know and trust. Everything is possible with God. Your idol could be any one of a number of things.
Pray: I choose to abandon myself. Everything is possible with God. God chose to love us.

Mennonite Sonata Beethoven Blatz

We had no tickets. We waited in line. 5 people ahead of us on the waiting list. Craig. We got the last 2 tickets! 4 people did not show up on time to claim theirs. Thanks!

This is the story of a young husband who invites his grieving Russian friend Beethovan Blatz to come to his house to fix the piano and teach his wife to play it. The husband had mumps as a young man and he is unsure of his ability to father a child. He encouraged Blatz to make sure "he learned his wife good" and sure enough she gets pregnant.

Blatz is a crazy musician who wants to write a sonata and the wife is his muse. They have the baby and everyone is happy.

Conversation with actors and author Armin Wiebe.
Mixed up low-high German and buggered English or Arminish
Mensch means oh-man.
Joy and affirmation are ll strong theme.
Whatever borsht you stir you have live with.
Enjoyed the mounting of this play so much that I might want to do it again.
The weird word order and dialect was hard to learn. They had a coach that helped them talk with an accent.
The gypsy in the hayloft was let loose. The brum topf was used at New Year's to sing New Year's wishes. No one knows the music to that song. Armin built his own from descriptions he heard from others.
The detail and comedy came from the team. They made the details work.

Whose baby is it? Will the village leave good enough alone?

Runs till next Sunday.

Practical Atheist: Get it Right

www.Eastview.org Community Church
Songs:
Jesus Messiah Name above all Names Blessed Redeemer Emmanuel. The Ransom from Heaven - Lord of All. LOVE so amazing
In Christ alone my Hope is found. Here in the LOVE of Christ live. No guilt in life, no fear death. Jesus commands my destiny.
Great is Your faithfulness morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed your hand has provided. Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.
When life throws us a curve ball your faithfulness is all we can hang on to.

Pastor Delbert:
How much nitpicking can I tolerate? What if I'm the nitpicker?

If you have the gumption to name the answers then do the work.

Mark ch 9 It was wonderful on top of the mountain. In the valley 9 disciples are arguing with the lawyers. A boy needs healing but they forgot to pray.

The father had faith but wanted help with overcoming unbelief. Some things in life do not have answers- some things are not meant to change in the valley. When that happens - how do we respond? Often by criticism. Seldom if ever does it work. We become critical over time. Become old cranks. "offer my help"
How can we actually help?

When Jesus came into the valley he did the healing. Some of his disciples thought they were part of the VIP Club. v34 -who is the greatest?
When we get criticized we tramp on others
Ambition can't be satisfied with criticism.
v37 anyone who welcomes a child (servant)welcomes me, Jesus said.
Become a servant is the antidote to criticism. Get going get it right.
v38 we saw someone not in our club working in Jesus' name. They stopped him
v4o Jesus said: anyone not against us is for us. Don't stop others to elevate yourself.

Thank you to everyone who hangs in, serves church, community, spouse.

Keep saying thanksI. God will reward. Thank you goes a long way to encourage.

Learn to eliminate criticism. Pursue a life of harmony. If you cause someone else to stumble -change. Preserve. Do not destroy. Have the quality of salt in your life. Determine never to criticize on Sunday. That will change your life and your community. Make it safe.

Challenge: Col 4:6 put a moratorium on criticism.
Let your conversation be gracious and attractive.

What did Joseph do?

When his brothers conspired to sell him as a slave, there must have been many a time that he would have wished they would have just killed him. Put him out of his misery.

What did his brothers do? They kept the secret from their father. Told him that Joseph was killed by a lion or other ferocious beast. How did they interact with their father after that? Did they go to family gatherings? Did they act like they were not guilty? Did they work extra hard to please their father after what they did? Did they "fancy up" the story of where and how they found the "technicolor coat"? They were not willing to enter into the pain of their father with truth and honesty. Seems that they did have some on-going relationship, but clearly not an open and honest one. They did jointly agree to go to Egypt to buy food.

When Joseph became #2 in Egypt, he did not go to the family gatherings even though he could have done so any time. Why not? Did he have ungoing unbearable pain of rejection from the family? Did he want some communication from his brothers relating to "SORRY"?

When his brothers showed up, he went to great pains to make them pay for what they had done. 25 years after the family rejection and his sale into slavery, he still had no use for them. He tortured his father by demanding that Benjamin show up before he'd give them any more food. The brothers told him that that demand would kill their father. Joseph stuck to his demands.

When his brothers showed up the next year, Joseph put them through the paces again, before he forgave them. Forgiveness was not easy or cheap.

When their father died, the brothers were scared that Joseph would finally exact revenge. His forgiveness was still tentative in their minds. At that point Joseph re-assured them that they were safe under is umbrella.

How many counselors did Joseph go to to help him deal with his pain? What did they tell him?
