He loved movies. He loved fishing.
Taught us to be enterprising.
Did a lot of travelling.

Song How Great Thou Art

Meditation Pastor Ken Stoesz
He celebrated the joys of life.
Trust in the Lord. The word trust is a tricky word. Hard to attain easy to lose.
A mountain is hard to climb but one small slip and it's all over.
Trust with the whole heart. Put all your chips with God.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 NLT
The world tells us to put your trust in yourself. Your friends. Your job. That will fail us.
The Lord is the name of God. He hears our prayers. Remember who He is. He is faithful. He is so for you that he died to save you. Nick wasn't perfect. Romans 8 Jesus reconciled us to the Father. We forgive because we have been forgiven. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God.
Why are some church goers so sad? Trusting Jesus brings joy.
We moved to a new home and our dog Sidney insisted in coming in because the master was in the house. He wanted to sleep where the master slept.
Jesus will walk the valley with us.

Song It Is Well with my Soul written by Horatio a business man. Lost his business in the Chicago fire. Lost his toddler. His daughters died in a crash on the ocean. The bottom of his life fell out. Though trials come it is well with my Soul.
Trust the Lord

Genesis 20
Abraham 12-25
Old habits die hard. Abraham had that problem. He did not ask for advice. God did not tell him to move.
Why did he move? The fire from Sodom burned all the fields.

Abraham moved south to the Negev and lived for a while between Kadesh and Shur, and then he moved on to Gerar. While living there as a foreigner,
Genesis 20:1 NLT

The city meant conflict. Later Isaac did the same thing.

Who are you dating? Quitting your job? Did you search for good advice?
Humbly seek help. Most people want to help. Russia show where the audience was asked for the right answer they misled the contestant.

Chris Pratt speech 9 points. Generation Award. God is real. God  loves you. He was bold.

Abraham lied to protect his butt.
Kiwi looks ugly but tastes good. Donuts can surprise you.

I invited a friend to church. He refused because we had too many rich people. What's inside is hurting people. Don't judge by appearance.

Abraham made a mess and judged wrongly.
Then Abimelech called for Abraham. "What have you done to us?" he demanded. "What crime have I committed that deserves treatment like this, making me and my kingdom guilty of this great sin? No one should ever do what you have done! Whatever possessed you to do such a thing?"
Genesis 20:9‭-‬10 NLT

The grace of God.
Have you judged others?
Make it right.

Grew up in a judging family until I got judged and discovered Grace. God's love is never ending.

Prophesies Jesus fulfilled

What do we do while we wait?

Many will come and claim to be me. They will say they are the Messiah, and they will fool many people.  Nations and kingdoms will go to war against each other. People will starve to death, and in some places there will be earthquakes.
Matthew 24:5‭, ‬7 CEV

When the Bible repeats pay attention.
What are the signs?
Earthquakes, hatred killings
Gospel preached around the world. Joshua Project 6b people unreached  Wycliffe
Great distress
False Prophets
Signs in the heavens stars falling

Don't be alarmed  this is just the start. When the gospel is preached all over the world he'll come.

Don't lose the truth. Beware of false prophets.

The kingdom of heaven is like what happened one night when ten young women took their oil lamps and went to a wedding to meet the groom.  But the groom replied, "I don't even know you!"
Matthew 25:1‭, ‬12 CEV

The parable of the gold. Good guy got rewarded the lazy one: You are a worthless servant, and you will be thrown out into the dark where people will cry and grit their teeth in pain."
Matthew 25:30 CEV

Sheep and goats

When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all his angels, he will sit on his royal throne. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. The king will answer, "Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me."

Then the king will say to those on his left, "Get away from me! You are under God's curse. Go into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! The king will say to them, "Whenever you failed to help any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you failed to do it for me."

Then Jesus said, "Those people will be punished forever. But the ones who pleased God will have eternal life."
Matthew 25:31‭, ‬33‭-‬33‭, ‬40‭-‬41‭, ‬45‭-‬46 CEV

Take care of the hungry thirsty stranger naked

Isaiah 58 says the same thing.
Then you will truly enjoy knowing the Lord . He will let you rule from the highest mountains and bless you with the land of your ancestor Jacob. The Lord has spoken!
Isaiah 58:14 CEV

Who is your neighbour? Be prepared for ministry. Help at the thrift store.
Who can you help in 3-1/2 minutes?

Donwood Manor people want visitors. Go visit.

There is a heaven and a hell. What does God want you to do this week?

Jesus is coming back and it will be epic.

Samuel Isaac Brandt

July 21, 1981 - July 28, 2018

Tributes
Samuel loved traveling. When in China he went to English corner.
Go! Was one word to describe Samuel. Go into the world and share the faith. He moved bravely and with courage. Go! Samuel go with Jesus.

Roger. Met him at the Chinese church. Impressed with his energy. I was seeking Christ and Samuel led me to Jesus. He had a firm foundation in Christ. We had a Bible study. He was outgoing and passionate. We lost count of how many friends he had. He wanted to have children.
He had a passion to lead others to Jesus. Be caring be positive. John 3.16 God loved the world.
Ephesians 2.8 by Grace you've been saved was one of the last verses we shared. He was a bright star.

Samuel loved ice coffee long before it was fashionable. We loved trucking. He was Go guy. Entrepreneur. Help people that needed help. Loved his parents and sisters.
Wanted marriage. Maribel died 4 months later. Samuel came to help while our daughter needed care. Let's walk through your issues. He helped through the challenges. He wrote and published a book.
Samuel was excited to move back to Manitoba. He cried for joy when his son was born.
Spoke to him Thursday night. He was asking God how he could share his story to help others.

The family
Sisters Nieces and nephews
Samuel you were our leader. I kept bugging him. He never got angry. Samuel you were our adventure. Jumping from the top of the roof. You lived for the story.
Hiking with you was an adventure straight through the bush or the mountain. His little sisters could do everything when he made it a race.
Samuel believed in us. He loved us.
You inspired us. Your faith
Dominique. Uncle Samuel swam in the river.
No more earthly restrictions. Samuel you would

Grema met him in 16. He was a loving husband. He was loved. He was a father that loved his son so much. Lots of wisdom. Captured my heart. He gave my life meaning. He danced like a baby.
No regrets to marry him 2 years. Love you forever.

Jeannine Samuel was not relaxed. Crazy wild passionate. He is the comic relief at his funeral.
Be still and know.
Video series to have more passion in life.
Winter fun. Cold water foot dipping.

Corn roast coming up. He used to grow corn and sell it at the farmer's market. He planted corn this spring. It's ready to enjoy. Come share the joy. Open mic there.
Remember the vim he had.

Preacher met Samuel at the Chinese church. He thought English in China. He had 1600 people on his phone.

If I fought wild beasts but have no hope....
He was grounded in eternal hope. Not human hope. Faith in Christ being sure of what we hope for.
4 years ago he called. His voice was a whisper when he called to say his new wife had died.
We do not grieve without hope. This hope is an anchor. Jesus is our anchor. We will see Jesus face to face. He is in heaven now. Revelation. A great multitude standing before the lamb. He loved nations.
Dubai never a dull moment with Samuel.

What got him to heaven was inviting Jesus into his life. Do it today.

Your Blessing of Restriction

Darryl Friesen www.YourAnchorPoint.com
What's the difference between boundaries and rules?
Analogies are limited and finite. How does our relationships with children parallel God's relationship with us.
Rules have consequences. They are not adjustable.
Boundaries are flexible and personal. Bedtimes are for their good. It's a blessing. It brings joy the next day. She tests the boundaries.
Boundaries are more complex and harder to understand.
Heart attitude is harder.
Jacob's bedside blessings,

Jacob called his sons together and said: My sons, I am Jacob, your father Israel.  Come, gather around, as I tell your future.  These are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is how Jacob gave each of them their proper blessings.
Genesis 49:1‭-‬2‭, ‬28 CEV

A blessing for days to come. He was prophetic.
This confronts the concept of blessing across generations. Rarely do we think in prospective of the future.
V28 everything spoken here is a blessing.
V1-7 how can these verses be a blessings? Demoting these brothers was a blessing to the nation. Ruben attempted to grab leadership by sleeping with his father's wife. The oldest 2 abused the covenant of circumcision. They killed the people of Sechem. That disqualified them to lead the Israelites. So that made the curses they got into blessings.
They were likely devastated.

It's possible they were thinking they had done the right thing. Levi was rewarded and set apart after they killed 3000. They were zealous for the honor of God.

Good gifts come from the father of lights. What do we do when our wings have been clipped?
God decision to disallow us to fill roles that we are unsuited for are a blessing.
God is good all the time. He restores forgives.
Isaiah 55.8
The Lord says: "My thoughts and my ways are not like yours.   "Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don't return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat.  That's how it is with my words. They don't return to me without doing everything I send them to do."
Isaiah 55:8‭, ‬10‭-‬11 CEV
