Morweena Church

Pray for Jamaica. For peace. For peace for farmers that have been rained out.

Harry and Levina Friesen have just returned from Paraguay.
Greetings in Jesus' name.

Spent 2 months preaching teaching in Paraguay. His brother Ted helped preach a one week series from John
The church has an empty suite that any one can enjoy.
The church is doing well. Sunday School has been started at Rio Verde. 5 Couples have recently moved from Canada to help along in the church.
The church is producing one hour daily radio Program. Morweena Paraguay farm is doing well.
We fly there. It is on the other side of the world.

Hopeful this message will encourage your heart. Children believe in God. All preaching has one focus to get to know who Jesus is. Who is he?

What kind of Jesus does it take to be my Saviour? the one I believe in.
John made it obvious that Jesus tried to tell us who he is. We all have an enormous need for a savior. Do we know that need?
How do you bridge the gap. From lostness to God. That is a profound thought. Edwin Wright: "From the guttermost to the uttermost."
Jn 1:1 In the beginning Genesis
We found the Messiah- an awesome statement
1. We need a man. Someone who can feel with us. Some of his contemporaries had a problem with that. How could a man be a Savior? Who made himself out to be God.
He had grandma's features. An ordinary man.
Jn 6 bread of life. How can he give us his flesh to eat? He was a blood and flesh Man. John the Baptist did not recognize him as the savior. But as a cousin.
The Word tented among us.
2. We need a Messiah. God needs to come to bridge the gap. Not the highest angel. But God himself. Not a JW Jesus. A riddle of being God and man at the same time. Believe in him. Stand in awe of Him. He is God. Reverence Him. The Word was God. John Stott writes how Jesus God does a miracle and teaches how that applies to him. Light Life Resurrection
Jesus knew where he came from. God in eternity. One with the Father.
The church over the centuries has struggled with and flip flopped on the God-Man.
How important are Jesus' statements? Ch 8 Jesus said "I am" 3 times. Unless you believe that "I am" you will not have eternal life.
The resurrection will underline the ''I am" the God of Abraham. Before Abraham existed ''I am" said Jesus.

Living the Unpredictable Life: Catching the Wave

Dave Ens
www.Eastview.org
I used to have grandpa's old car And it served me well. Then I bought this nice red Grand Prix car and I began to serve the car.
The industrial revolution changed society. Community became less important and my stuff became important.
What is God's will for me. What is my purpose in life? What am I supposed to do with my stuff?
Solomon accumulated tons of stuff and he said it was all Vanity
Oz Guinness says we have too much stuff and not enough to live for.
God desires us to have a purpose. Phil 3:8 to know Christ
God, pour some purpose into my life.
1 Sam 13-14 King Saul is celebrating a victory and then the enemy returns with 10x as many people. They have only 2 swords in their army. They are waiting for the prophet Sam to show up. Jonathan says let's go and see if they will kill us. If not God will deliver us.
Jonathon acted on what he believed God wanted him to do.

Sometimes we wait for predictable results when we should be stepping out. Discern Gods will through action.
God's Spirit will GUIDE us. Open doors for us. If we are willing to step out into unpredictable life we begin to make a difference.
We need to make our ourselves step out. Do we believe in something bigger?
God is often saying - you have a sword. Go and do something.
Jonathon had someone to stand behind him. Who is God sending with you? God never sends us alone.
Are you willing to step outside of yourselves?
Oh Lord I bring an offering to you.
Take myself and I will be ever only all for you

Best Picture Award goes to...

We arrived home last night on DELTA with 3 out of 5 pcs of luggage missing. We had a great time. What's the best picture of the trip? Don't really know, but how about this one?

There isn't a picture in the world that My Beloved doesn't enhance. Here she is in front of the pavilion used in the filming of The Sound of Music 40 years ago in Salzburg Austria.

More pictures coming soon.

Europe this Week

It is hard to keep the blog up to date when travelling. Even though we have internet access most days, by the time we all check our emails and Facebook, there is no time for me to blog.

Let's see:
we spent a week in France and saw some of their greatest castles (chateaux), bought some stuff at the Mall of Europe, had dinner at Disney Village, etc
My highlight for France was the village of Chablis, where guess what, they make Chablis wine. We stayed there for one night, then headed to Bern, Switzerland, and from there to a castle/Bible School where they welcomed us for a night. We all had a ton of fun exploring this huge castle at night all by ourselves. We were the first of the season and only guests that night, so we could explore the witches cellar and all the other mysterious rooms. Something we will always remember.

Now we are in Salzburg. We went to the MB church here met missionaries Richard and Hazel Funk, and celebrated Richard's birthday. In the afternoon we explored the big high castle on the hill and Justin, Martha and I went to the Sound of Salzburg sing-along dinner show. Enjoyed it very much. Alayna and Kara went to the Mozart dinner Show.

Tomorrow, Monday, we are booked on the Sound of Music Tour, and then we head out to Oberammergau, for the Passion Play that happens every 10 years. The performance starts Tuesday 2:30 PM and runs late into the evening.

Wednesday we plan to see the Neuschwanstein castle, spend Thursday in Munich, and then fly home on Friday.

Keep checking back. I'm tired and Martha wants to Facebook. I will be posting a lot of pictures.

Yesterday

Martha and I went to a Mennonite church near here and Claire-Lise Dos-Santos, the church council president, interpreted for us. The preacher talked about Peacemaking in light of the Liberation Day National Holiday that happened here on Saturday. For Europeans the liberation day is a very real and present reality. "You can't put your hand in Jesus' hand and make a fist".

Later we went to Notre Dame and listened to some majestic music. I lit a candle in memory of Renee, and shed a few tears.

This morning Martha and I were thinking / singing the song Count Your Blessings and found this video. Hope it blesses you.

Attitude

by Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes.
