Hope in the Messiah

The candle of hope reminds us to live in hope for the 2nd coming of Christ.

How do you define authentic hope when things go wrong? How do you look down the road?
There is no other hope than Jesus. Are you hopeful? Tomorrow will be as good as yesterday.
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 NLT

Malachi to Matthew is 400 years of silence. This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abraham :
Matthew 1:1 NLT
Genealogy was everything. Royal descent was so important. Even today we want to know our ancestry.
Proving to be a descendant of David made you royal.

I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you."
Genesis 12:2‭-‬3 NLT

God had a plan after the Fall. Redemption through Jesus. God put Abraham to the test.

Have you placed your faith in Jesus?
What he says he will provide.
Jesus is also a descendant of David a man after his own heart. He was a glorious man. But a bloody one. In spite of that God promised his kingdom to last forever.

David was also tested. He had a wicked son and tried to split the kingdom. In the end they were taken into exile.

Jeremiah said the days are coming when a branch of David will spring up.
"In those days and at that time I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David's line. He will do what is just and right throughout the land. In that day Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And this will be its name: 'The Lord Is Our Righteousness.'
Jeremiah 33:15‭-‬16 NLT

Look down the road? Where are you looking? I will trust in the promises of God. If you have never done that, do it now.
Wait with great expectations. Today. Confess Jesus as Lord. Pray now.
