The doctrine will produce a new life style when living in Christ Jesus.
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be treated badly.

Expect persecution
Paul had 3 years of revelation from Jesus. Not from a Bible school.
Rejoice and be glad.
Some were laughed at. Some were whipped. Still others were held by chains. They were put in prison. Some were killed with stones. They were sawed in two. They were put to death by the sword. They went around wearing the skins of sheep and goats. They were poor. They were attacked. They were treated badly.

We need to put Jesus first.
Persecution is a sign that we are effectively living for Jesus.
The result of the gospel is peace. The immediate result is conflict.
"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. Anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And anyone who does not pick up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. If anyone finds his life, he will lose it. If anyone loses his life because of me, he will find it.

His parents disowned him 29 years ago when he got saved. 9 months later they blessed him.
Everyone in the Roman Catholic church was good with immortality but rejected following Jesus.
God rewards the faithful persecuted.
If we are having trouble, it is so that you will be comforted and renewed. If we are comforted, it is so that you will be comforted. Then you will be able to put up with the same suffering we have gone through.

But suppose you suffer for being a Christian. Then don't be ashamed. Instead, praise God because you are known by that name.
