Fancy new church building. 
Scalding hot water in bathroom. 
10 adult men. Some of them guests. 10 boys. Women and girls sit on the right side of the auditorium. Women wear black kerchiefs.

Jesus is Lord of All.

2. What do we with our hands? Lift them up to the Lord? Our transportation, is it surrendered to Christ? 
Your head? Humble? Ladies have long hair and a veil?

3. If persecution would arise and we were killed we need not fear. Only Christ. Are we following him? 

God has a place prepared for us. 

4. Money.  For how much are we willing to lose a friend? $1,000.
A clerk put a dollar in her own pocket. 
Labors are we employed by Christ? In a good place? 
Voice. Tone. Are we seasoned with grace. Are our electronic things surrendered? 
5. Surrender your life. What are we living for? What are we loving? Family. Jesus's disciples were his family. 
We want to follow Christ.

Joy

Nero was called the anti Christ. He murdered his family the apostle Paul and Christians. He burned Christians in his garden as torches. He killed his wife and mother castrated a boy and married him before he killed himself. 

Philippians the book of joy was written in that environment. Paul had the joy of Christ. 

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.

Hearing versus doing.
If you do you will have peace. 


Joy. Love. Peace. Self control.
Quit worrying. Live in Christ. That's too simple. Live him 24/7. It takes time to learn that. 

We should sing I surrender all not I surrender some. We have trouble with that. 

Paul got 5x39 lashes. Three times I was beaten with a rod. Once I received a stoning. Three times I suffered shipwreck. A night and a day I spent adrift in the open sea.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.

Get rid of what hurts you. Alcohol? Porn?
It takes time to improve. Don't be too hard on yourself when you fail. Choose your thought stream. Take every thought captive. Every thought. 
Live what you read in the Bible. You are the gardener and reap what you sow. Sow depression and reap depression. 

We can't Google God or the Apple woman. 
Shake it off and run to Christ. Don't sow crap.
I was circumcised at 8 Paul said. Was the purebred Hebrew of Hebrews. Counted that all garbage for the infinite value of knowing Christ. 
Be content in God's will. His plan. 
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!

Worthless Riches James 5:1-6

How much money do you need to be wealthy? 
A million. Nothing. It's relative. Enough food and shelter. What matters is that you think about it all the time. Said a wealth planner. 
Most of us don't say I want to be rich. 
Pay attention to this if you're rich. Cry and moan about the misery that is coming to you. Your riches have decayed, and your clothes have been eaten by moths. Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be used as evidence against you. Like fire, it will destroy your body. You have stored up riches in these last days. The wages you refused to pay the people who harvested your fields shout ⌊to God⌋ against you. The Lord of Armies has heard the cries of those who gather the crops. You have lived in luxury and pleasure here on earth. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered people who have God's approval, even though they didn't resist you.

40-60 years after Jesus died the church had issues with financials. 
People were not paid properly.

James spent many hours in prayer. He had camel knees. 

Left home at 15 to go to university and got his inheritance of $100 before he came to Canada. Pray for what you need. Had nothing to pay for tuition. An anonymous donor sent a cheque for tuition.

He tithed and at the end of the year he had $200.

Being rich is not sinful. Selfishness is. 

How did you get it? Fraud? Holding back wages? Pay daily. 

FLN job to raise millions. Pray for the people that owe you money and give more. 

Give a word of encouragement. The rich were suing the poor who had nothing. I want to be in control. We have rights and we chase them. 

Storing wealth at the expense of others is wrong. Share. You won't take it with you. 
Not sharing is worse than being an unbeliever.

Be satisfied and stay where you live. Don't hoard on these last days. 
Make the best use of your time.

Eldon impacted many.

Grade 12 graduation with Flora
He enjoyed studies. Enrolled in medical school. 
Got an electrical degree and Red Seal designation. 
Aurora Electrical Solutions he really enjoyed. 
Tuesday he had lunch and got accidentally gassed. 
He produced videos. He helped others in their studies. 
Eldon called Glenn sharing Bible verses with him. 
He taught Adult Sunday School.
LBE appreciated his electrical skills. 
He was a man of prayer. 
Michael Smith of Aurora said he was a hard worker. 
Saturday Eldon came to men's prayer breakfast. He was in the choir on Sunday to sing:

Once a sinner far from Jesus,
I was perishing with cold,
But the blessèd Savior heard me when I cried;
Then He threw His robe around me,
And He led me to His fold,
And I'm living on the hallelujah side.

In loving memory of Eldon.  How we can we receive comfort?

When Jesus comes in there is unspeakable comfort. The physical presence of Jesus would have prevented Eldon from dying. 

Jesus had deep compassion for the sisters of Lazarus. 

Jesus gave a promise. Brother will rise again. Jesus said I am the resurrection. Everyone who believes in me will never die. 

Jesus is not A Way. He is THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. 

Have you come to this assurance?

Jesus you are all I need. 

Take away the stone said Jesus. If you believe you will see the glory of God. 

Every day 500 people get cancer. 

If you believe you will see the glory of God. 

We will see him.

After she said this, she went back home. She called her sister Mary to one side to talk to her. "The Teacher is here," Martha said. "He is asking for you."

Jesus is asking for you. 
We prayed together. That made my day. 
Have you repented? 
Eldon wanted to do things right. 
He was smart. A+ in university in every course except 1 with an A.
We had communion and we hugged.

Instead of going south he went north east to Caesarea Philippi. Why? Greek mythology Pan the God of nature. Jesus was the creator of the universe. 

When Jesus came to the area of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"

for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him.

What about you? Who do you say I am? This is the most important question that confronts everyone. 

Do you have a biblical answer? Who is Jesus? 
You need to answer that question. 

If you can't explain that you are not a Christian. Are you intentional in answering that question?

The Hebrew Son means same character. Of the living God. 

 The Vision statement of Jesus: I Will build MY church. Jesus has absolute power knowledge 
He can't be overruled. 

Christian have sticky fingers about their church. It belongs to Christ alone alone. 

Gates implies the protection. 

It's a Global statement. 
How does the report card look? More countries are open than ever before. 
USSR is open. Iran. Albania. Very closed a few years ago. There were only 6 believers. Now every village has the gospel. Nepal had 400 believers. Now every village has the witness of the gospel. Jesus Said I will BUILD my church. 295,000 people come to Christ every year. And going up. Christ is on the move. In the Middle East as well. Yeman has huge increase. Need disciplers.

It's not happening here because we are not taking the gospel to the streets.

Theology must be worked out. Like getting to know someone. You have to live with someone to get to know them.
Dating is a good thing to get to know someone. Disassociate the characteristic from the person. 
What are the attributes you are looking for? Characteristics. 
Run after Jesus. Grab the woman running alongside you. She has the same values. 

We think we have to guard the doctrine of God. We need to explore God. 
Calvinists defend Calvinism. Allow me to explore truth. 
Once saved always saved. There will be a great falling away. What does that mean for Calvinists? We need to explore.

Making friends with JWs. They are hungry to know the Truth. We need to meet with truth seekers. 

Give them a modern version of the Bible. 

Evolution can't be discussed in the public square. They say God doesn't exist so therefore evolution must be truth.

PM came. The right to abort is based on a lie that the life does not begin until after birth. The mother's right is considered superior. 

Let's suppose it's just a fetus. If she has a male baby she has 4 legs and arms and a penis. Therefore you could rip any one part off and consider it OK. 

Our constitution has freedom of religion. You have the right to proselytize peacefully. 
Freedom lets the wrong ideas die off. 
It's against the constitution to have a government owned media. The CBC is illegal and unconstitutional. 
Jesus is the transformational God. 
Philippians was written from prison and Paul was filled with joy.
Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort provided by love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any affection or mercy,  complete my joy and be of the same mind, by having the same love, being united in spirit, and having one purpose. You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had,  who though he existed in the form of God  did not regard equality with God as something to be grasped,
Philippians 2:1‭-‬2‭, ‬5‭-‬6 NET

Therefore as you have always obeyed as mature Christians work out your salvation with fear and trembling. Don't be stupid. Work it out.

God I want to do it in Christ. Shine as lights in the world. Live full on. Even if I have to die for you it's worth it. Keep running. 

Close with it. We are creatures of habit. Change the daily default. We like to schedule. 

What adjustment do you have to make? To avoid the midlife crisis?
