Casting Call Christmas Eve
Justin had to work late closing the store. Hope he makes it out. He came in an hour late. But he came! I'm looking forward to our traditional cheese fondue tonight!
It came upon a midnight clear! Wonderful to sing together!
Casting Call
Who wants to act in this live nativity scene?
You want to audition? Can you play the angel? Joseph?
You want to be Mary? Nothing is impossible to God. Just look at Jesus.
Too much cheap acting and not enough worship. Alayna walked out.
King without a king's life and yet he is the king of kings. God with us.
A strange way to save the world. Song.
Let's find a different Christmas Eve service next year. Anyone know of a good one?
Pastor Delbert: God chose ordinary people. 2012 is a reference to the birth of Jesus. St James brother of Jesus. St Paul built the church. We have so many references to Jesus.
Jesus never wrote a book. He was not from an important family. Yet he changed the world. We can't imagine a world without Jesus. Everything hinges on Jesus's birth. Everything that happens in this world is recorded in reference to Jesus's birthday.
Jesus spoke the most powerful words anyone has ever spoken: I am the truth. No one comes to the Father excerpt through me! Do you know Him personally? You can know him tonight. If you know him your heart is celebrating this day in the year of our Lord.

Tomorrow 5:00 & 6:30 p.m.
Don't miss it!
Audition for the Wiseman
Dave Ens Pastor
The story is so familiar and often we miss the essence of the story.
The Wiseman traveled from afar and they have some royal connections. They are overjoyed when they find the baby. Gold frankincense myrrh. What is that?
Anna the prophetess and Simeon have a different reaction.
The magi leave quietly. They saw something else. Gold fit for a king. Incense to worship God. Myrrh for his death and burial.
The baby in a manger. Nice food trough. That's the picture we give away. We don't give bloody Easter cards to our friends. Why not?
There is a new way of living now. Jesus came to make things new.
Magi might have seen death on Jesus's face. Is that why they left? For something new to happen, something has to die. There has to be space created for the new light and life. We can't look at the manger and not see the cross.
Isa 9,6 a child has been born. Zeal will change the world. Passion. Happens all over. Anger and jealousy are part of the zeal of the season.
God's zeal comes in a way we don't expect. Rom 5,6 God proves his love. While we were still sinners Christ died for us. The passion of God. The zeal of God.
Christmas starts small. A baby in a small town, shepherds with small influence. God will make all things new.
We recognise the true story when we remember Christ's death.
The birth of Jesus sets hope and joy into motion. The cross makes it real. Rev 21,3 all things new. No more mourning no more tears. No more pain in Newtown CT.
God is in the midst of our suffering.
In us there are things that need to die. So newness can come in.
Herrod sees the baby as a threat. So he in desperation starts to get rid of all perceived threats. He killed all young children and his sons and wife to maintain his status. He found no peace.
We try to change our circumstances but find nothing has changed. God wants to bring newness into our lives. That's what this season is all about.
Do the hard work and allow the baby to look into your heart and let him change you. Put to death what needs to die.

Choir Program
Wonderful program. I feel sorry for you if you missed it. Lots of good old fashioned Christmas carols and songs well presented under the humble leadership of Lisa Hamm.
What are we waiting for? A Present Hope
Emmanuel Messiah
www.Eastview.org
Come at 7 pm for the choir Christmas program
Christmas eve Services: Dec 23 6.30p.m. Dec 24 5.30 & 7.00 p.m.
In the beginning was the word and the word was God. He came to bring light. He lived among us.
There is a beautiful simplicity to the Christmas story. The word took up residence in a messy neighborhood. John does not worry about the details. John says there is no darkness that God's light can't overcome.
There is hope for today and for the future. Is the message really true? The Baptist asked Jesus.
Go and tell John what you see and hear. The present hope is still changing things today? Do you know that hope? Navigating our world distracts us. Jesus gave us himself. We make it complicated. God with us is uncomplicated.
Proposition: ask yourself, what is the gauge to judge that this season will be good. Restore that which is broken. What would that look like? What are you going to do?
God has been with us and will continue to be with us.

What are we waiting for? Birth and Rebirth
2000 years ago God sent his son to show us his love.
Dave Ens:
This is the first Sunday of advent. Advent season started 1400 years ago. Christians recognized that the story was so important they had to prepare for it.
The Christmas season changes the world. Jesus is the reason for the season.
Matth 1:1 the Christmas story starts with a list of names. Matthew was deliberate about writing this genealogy. We tend to tell our stories but leave out some of our less reliable relatives.
There are significant things in this list. Tamar is in the list. She seduced her father in law. She and her son are in Jesus' genealogy.
The trajectory God uses to tell us that these people were entirely inadequate to be in the blood line of Jesus is very deliberate.
The story is full of people who shouldn't be there. They are an embarrassment. But the good news of the gospel is for the worst of us.
Jesus offers a receptive redefinition of who you are. You can get out of your past.
These people needed forgiveness. Jesus redefined them. They are in the company of Jesus.
Jesus didn't come so we could pretend we're ok. There is an invitation to cleanup things in our lives. Jesus wants to give us a new name. And a new life.
Take this opportunity to say to Jesus: happy are those whose sins are forgiven. I acknowledge my sins. God forgave.

Julia 18 is a pastor's daughter. She knew God but did a lot of bad stuff. She got away with telling a lot of lies until she got caught. That night she recommited her life and her parents became her best friends.
Vanessa 17 is in grade 11 at MBCI. She grew up in a Christian home. She attends youth group here at Eastview. Going on SOAR inner city ministry has drawn her so much closer to God. We are God's masterpiece.

Song: You choose the humble and the weak. The same love that set the captives free has set me free and is calling me by name.
Baptized by youth pastor Cory Bell in the name of the Father Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus our hope living for all who receive.
There is no one else for me none but Jesus crucified to set me free. Now I live to bring him praise.
Eastview is a family. We renew our covenant to care for one another.
Elton Dasilva:
Baptism is not about changing religion. It's from the Greek word for dying the cloth. Taking on the color ( character) of Christ. Being immersed in Christ. This morning we've had people baptized that grew up in Christian homes and people who lived evil lives and were changed by the love of Christ.
Going under the water and coming out as someone in Christ. If you are tired, Christ is inviting you to be washed and cleaned by Jesus. We can't deal with our issues on our own. There is One who loves you the way you are.
There is a language of belonging. You now belong to the community of Christ.
We are so connected by technology we don't have time to really get to know one another. But now you BELONG to this fellowship.
You have begun this journey.
If anyone here wants to join this blessed fellowship talk to one of our pastors.

When God is God: Yet I Will Rejoice
www.Eastview.org
Delbert Enns
This week is Operation Christmas Child. Bring your boxes of gifts now.
Are you emotionally exhausted? If God is good and powerful why is there so much evil in the world?
God has given us permission to help rebuild the broken pieces. He knew we could not repair or reconcile it on our own so he sent his son to show us the way.
Habakkuk
Deon the policeman does a tour of skid row Los Angelos. Lots of problems. When you say you care they hold you up to it.
The prophet tries to deal with the injustices being dealt to his people. He chooses to rejoice in the Lord. It all begins with an unconditional response of faith. Be filled with amazement of what God has done. Habakkuk sang praises.
Sing now:
Give thanks to the Lord our king and sing praise. His love endures forever.
God is firmly established in history. God rewrote the words of my life. Psalm 18
Those who trust in the Lord soar like an eagle. Fly above the circumstances.
Know who you are in Christ and fly with him. We need to recognize who we are in Christ. 'What' depletes you. Who you are in Christ energizes you. You are precious to God.
What makes Stomachs turn and flip on the inside.
Sometimes we must isolate and then regroup. Wait be still and know that I am God. God will be honored. To wait means to weave. God is preparing you for an incredible assignment. Who God is starts to shape us.
There is an assignment God has while we wait. Even though everything I love dies I will rejoice in the Lord.
Though I'm losing income property health I WILL REJOICE NO MATTER WHAT! God will help me fly like an eagle. Learn to be content with whatever I have. No matter where you are you are not alone. We are scattered glass. But God has showered his kindness on us. I will rejoice!
God is weaving something beautiful in you. For your growth.
Never doubt in the dark what God has told you in the light.

Jake Kornelsen Memorial
Was married to Lena Dueck for 52 years.
They had 10 children. They had a welding shop and 100 chickens when they started life together.
Moved to Canada.
Worked at Vidir Machine for many years.
Song by the girls: They loved to sing and he would join them. God leads his children sometimes through tough times. Water flood fire but all through the blood. Some through great sorrow but God gives a song, through the night season and all the day long.
Grandpa was a special person and loved us and prayed for us. He said: God's will be done. So glad to know he's singing with the angels. He will be greatly missed. He always thought grandma was so beautiful.
He was always positive and gave us lots of hugs.
He never judged anyone.
Grandpa came to help change my tire. He readily confessed mistakes.
Art the oldest brother says pray for Lena. He worked a lot with Jake.
John's daughters read John's tribute. Jake could say lots with a few words. Rejoicing with you.

When God is God: Waiting
The sovereignty of God
We struggle with that. Are we dealing with God or with a vending machine?
Why would God allow hurricane Sandy? How do we deal with that?
Scripture tells us that God is sovereign.
Habakkuk wrestled with God. Do we trust God outside of our control?
Jesus told the paralytic that he had control over physical changes and he healed him.
You change the world by changing the human heart. God is not in the problem. He's in the resilience of his people. Wait and see what God will do. Praying and waiting go hand in hand. Ps 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord;:; patiently. how do we live in the semicolon? He inclined his ear to me.
I will stand at the post and wait. What do we do in the meantime?
God has plans for you for good. Not to harm you but to give you a future. That promise is not invalidated when things don't go our way.
Look at those who rely on themselves. There is discontent. The spirit is not right.
A plumber was not available. I thought I could fix it myself. Thought I fixed it. Turned the water back on. Then the pail floated across the room when the water gushed out. I was too impatient to wait for a plumber or plumber friends to come and help.
The righteous live by faith. Live in trust. Rest & wait. God is good. A quiet faith that trusts. What is your semicolon? Can you stand and wait?

John Peters Funeral
McIvor MB Church
Gerald Hildebrand Pastor
John finished the race and has entered into glory. Today he is in God's presence.
We are here to celebrate John's life. We praise God for the hope he gives us.
John spoke via recording. Psalm 23 God prepared a banquet for him.
Musical slideshow tribute. He was always smiling except in the picture after Amanda died.
His oldest son Jim (spitting image of John) read the eulogy.
John was a teacher at Black Forest Academy with Janz Team Ministries.
He was meticulous in everything. He had a big voice he passed on to his boys. He was always healthy.
He loved art and did a lot of painting. He had a vision for a new painting that he can work on now.
Song: How Great Thou Art Great is the Lord led by Jack Stenekes.
Phil Peters: dad would always say we're thankful. He knew the Lord. Rejoice always Paul wrote when he was in prison.
John Dyck: John was my friend mentor and boss at Janz Team. We will not forget John his wide smile and booming voice. Apostle Paul said he was not worthy to be an apostle. John had a real love for Jesus. Met him at a children's rally where he was leading 600 children in praise.
John challenged many people into ministry. John labored more than others.
He established churches and schools. He was a busy man working for the Lord.
Donations may be made to Teach Beyond.
Doreen and family, this is a time of grieving. Be comforted by God. Live for God and it will not be in vain.
Sing: the love of God is greater far than all the world.
Prayer sovereign God we give you thanks. We will share in your resurrection life. Do not let grief overwhelm us or turn us against you.

Kendra's song from 188 Princess. A couple of pictures and a record is all I've got of you mama. I'm afraid of going to church. Pray for me. I feel so lonely. I wonder what it's like to have a home?
She did come to 188 Princess where she found Jesus.
Dave Ens
One of my struggles about working downtown is sorting the evil and the good there.
Sometimes we become preoccupied with ourselves. Jesus said lose your life to find it.
Sovereignty of God.
God has control of us. The earth it's the Lord's and all that is in it. God is not a vending machine.
If I get a flat tire and I miss the flight that ends up crashing has God intervened on my behalf? What about all the others that did not have flat tires? Where was God for them?
God is God. He can be your life changer.
Will be looking at the book our Habakkuk over the next few Sundays. It has 60 verses. It is a conversation between God and the prophet. The king steals from the poor to appease the rich. The courts were corrupt.
How long will God let this go on? Sometimes God's answer is worse than nothing. God raised up Israel's enemies to deal with the evil. You won't believe how bad it will get. We tend to watch for God to do what we want Him to do. How do we respond when the opposite happens?
Hab talks back to God. This is not who you are God!
The mystery of God is that he invites us to get involved. Hab 1:13 why are you silent when the wicked swallow the better people?
Hab started to watch for God. How will God do things now?
Is God good? His goodness must be on our mind at all times. Whatever God does I will follow. The ultimate act of God's sovereignty is to change human hearts through his demonstration of love through Jesus' death.
Today we will celebrate the sovereignty of God with communion.
We can't demystify God. 2 symbols - bread to remind us of Jesus's broken body and the fruit of the vine to remind us of the blood he shed for us.
Come just as you are.

HELLBOUND The Movie
5 people came to watch the movie.
To hell with hell?
The gospel makes no sense without hell.
The demons know where they come from and where they are going.
www.marshillchurch.com
www.Ihop.org
Not to preach hell is the worst thing you can do.
Eternal hell. How successful are you at winning souls.
Are Canadians all Mormons?
Do you believe in eternal torment? Or annihilation? Rob Bell's book. Truth has nothing to fear. Us and them. What bigger threat is there then that?
Fear of change does not allow some people to think. The gate keepers can't allow change. That would mean their lives were wasted. Hell avoidance plan is alive and well.
Old Testament does not teach Hell? The Pharisees accept the idea of life after death and hence hell.
Jesus is unteaching hell? HELLhouse scares people half to death. Would Jesus use hellhouse to scare people into heaven?
The dead sea is also the lake of fire. Gehenna was a literal place pit. Jerusalem was completely destroyed in A.D. 70.
The early church had 3 views. Universalism was soft on hell. Lead all souls to heaven especially those most in need of your mercy. No one knows if there are any people in hell. We don't know who will be saved. An ultimate redemptionist says everyone will have an opportunity to be saved. The bible has become the paper pope. Can we live in the mystery of tensions? Some people think that if you disagree with them you disagree with God. God hates some people.??
The Bible is simple and plain and hell is there.
Torment annihalism universalism
Take the Bible seriously. Painful process is hell. No literal hell. Roast in hell for ever. It is subjective to believe in hell. Do we have the ability to decide what's true? Christian universalism says everyone will be saved. God is big enough to deal with everyone's sin. There is a hell. It wouldn't be fair to let Hitler into heaven. Is it just to send someone to eternal damnation for temporal sins? What is perfect justice? We will all go through the fire of testing and the bad stuff gets burned up. Does God sort of win? Salvation includes adoption and not everyone gets saved. Jesus saved. His love is conditional on obedience. Jealous love. He works for the joy of His children.
Every doctrine of hell has a system of beliefs. Does God play favorites? The CS Lewis move is that the lock to hell is on the inside.
There will be a day of judgement when we will be free to choose Him clearly.
Preaching Peace. We all deserve punishment.
Renounce violence and embrace forgiveness.
Are we celebrating the death of Osama Bin Laden?
God is on our side? Is there such a thing as correct belief? Be open to universalism. Don't presume to know it all.
Pursue the Jesus way and you'll have joy and peace. The end is a mystery. Empathy makes us human through unselfish love. Don't be afraid. There is no fear. It has been cast out of heaven.
Living a generous life
www.Eastview.org
What does it mean to be a church? Baptism Sunday coming up.
Song. Wonderful so wonderful. Beautiful one I love you.
Pastor Delbert
What is important? Money is a sleeping giant within all of us.
If you have trouble between friends and relatives usually it involves money.
We all want to be someone. Money plays a major role in making us happy. A good relationship far outweighs money.
Giving with a generous heart. Moses grew up in a palace and had everything. Moses killed a soldier and ran away at age 40. As a shepherd God called him to get the people out of Egypt.
Moses protested. God asked him to use his shepherd's staff to prove God spoke to him. Miracles happened only when he released what was in his hand.
Community is to live a life of generosity. You can choose to live with a clenched fist. That will be hard. Many men control their wives.
Open hand says I'm sharing what God has given me. People are usually between those. A clenched fist life is a shriveled life. Kids know what a happy meal is. All kids have a happy meal void that can only be filled with a happy meal.
God created humans male and female and blessed them. He wants you to live the blessed life. Too often our selfishness kills the blessings.
A rich young Jewish businessman wanted to know how to be blessed. Jesus asked him to share. He was too right fisted. We battle that all the time. Community and generosity are the same Greek word. Give it all away and follow Jesus.
Give out of love. We live in a generous society but Christians give only 2.5% of their income. But we all want to live a blessed life.
What are you holding in your hands that is holding you back from experiencing a blessed life? Figure it out. That's not hard. What you think about the most.
Jesus said guard against every kind of greed. Are you planning to eat drink and be merry. There is no limit to desire for more. Jesus said you foolish donkey you will die.
Living a generous life. Give away 1st before buying more.
The word give occurs more than 2,000 times in the Bible. What you have in your hand let it go. This morning you are invited to join the society of generosity. Then you will always have everything you need to live joyfully
Give thoughtfully with joy voluntarily. Don't ever give under pressure or guilt. Tithing means returning 10% of what God has given you. If you give only a little bit you only get a little reward.
Generous giving is about reorienting your life to Christ's example.
Song
Everyone needs compassion forgiveness
Savior he can move the mountains.
Take me as you find me fill my life again.
All is well. He lowers us to raise us. I'm held firm by the rock of ages. He is God in control. I know I'm in God's hand. All is well.

automotive traction control dangers (TCS)
TCS works by the application of braking action on the wheel that is spinning faster than the the other. When testing that on pure ice, I imagine that it can be demonstrated to be useful for novice drivers. Roads, however, are seldom pure ice.
In slush highway conditions the TCS system will apply the braking action to the wheel that's spinning in slush. That side of the vehicle is already being slowed down by the drag created by slush and the car is starting to swerve to the slush side. Then TCS kicks in and you have a head-on or rollover crash.
I experienced that on my first vehicle equipped with TCS. I am a good driver. I was perplexed about why my van was always wanting to go left or right. Control was virtually impossible. Then my brain kicked in about the TCS. I turned it off, and presto - I was a good safe driver.
I have had hundreds of opportunities to experience that since then. Not only does TCS take you off course, it also hides the slipperiness of the road from the driver, by preventing slippage while accelerating in black ice road condition. Then when it's time to stop, you can't stop on time because the road is slipperier than you thought.
In deep snow on city streets at speeds below 30 km/h TCS may occasionally be useful.
I need to buy a new VW soon and I really need to be able to buy a car where that feature can be turned off, or better yet, a car without TCS.
The following is from Wikipedia:
A traction control system (TCS), also known as anti-slip regulation (ASR), is typically (but not necessarily) a secondary function of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) on production motor vehicles, designed to prevent loss of traction of driven road wheels. When invoked it therefore enhances driver control as throttle input applied is mis-matched to road surface conditions (due to varying factors) being unable to manage applied torque.
Intervention consists of one or more of the following:
- Reduces or suppress spark sequence to one or more cylinders
- Reduce fuel supply to one or more cylinders
- Brake force applied at one or more wheels
- Close the throttle, if the vehicle is fitted with drive by wire throttle
- In turbo-charged vehicles, a boost control solenoid can be actuated to reduce boost and therefore engine power.
Typically, traction control systems share the electro-hydraulic brake actuator (but does not use the conventional master cylinder and servo), and wheel speed sensors with the anti-lock braking system. The spinning wheel is slowed down with short applications of brakes, diverting more torque to the non-spinning wheel.

The spirit of God came on him that day. Profab partners mistreated him and he got frustrated and angry and decided to make a choice to forgive. He was delivered from the spirit of anger.

Memorials to what was
Or what might have been.
There is the one for Henry Reimer (24-94), Martha's dad. He had a blood disease that required him to drain blood every so often. In his final days I was experimenting with the idea of a new bakery system. He wondered whether I would be a good baker.
There is the memorial to Leona (49-78), Martha's sister. She was not yet 30 when the anxieties and pressures in life became too much to bear. Would a word of encouragement have helped? She was busy in reaching out to Winnipeg being a committed evangelist. The retired pastor couple she lived with was too busy watching soaps to spend time helping her. We could have spent time with her. She wanted us to come hear her sing in the choir the Sunday before that fateful day. We didn't. Were we too busy for her?
There are so many stories here. Who will tell those stories? Coming here is to remember some.

Greetings from from the Premier of Manitoba

We are here today to hear MALCOLM GLADWELL

He is top 20 thinkers

Hockey should be Canadian
Sermon. Not Sunday not a preacher
Ecclesiasties the race is not to the swift
Being an underdog is not bad
To be the first is what we all want. But it is over rated
Aim to be third
1982 the Lebanon war
Syria lost 70 planes in 2 days
Israel used drones in the days before they attacked
They had awacs planes
They had guided missiles
RMA no one has ever done it better
Russia invented the ideas
The U.S. built it the
Israelites perfected that
Why this process?
The Russians had a powerful think tank
The Americans invented stuff
Israel a small country had a very devastating experience in 67 when they lost 15% of their planes. They were desperate to prevent another disaster.
Centralized thinking leads to pondering forever
Competition leads to infighting
Xerox park built in the 70s is the most state of the art to invent the future. Everything comes out of there. They invented windows. GUI was invented there. The mouse came from there. Pdf comes from there.
Steve Jobs went there. They were there. He got a demo and started jumping up and down and starts the Apple interface. Make a mouse and put it on every computer. The McIntosh was born.
Xerox was first because they had brains and ideas. It stood in the way of marketing. They made a $16,000 personal computer. They were in no hurry.
Jobs was desperate for a money making product. That desperation led to a successful consumer product. The first mouse was the size of the shoe box.
Steve Jobs was always third. The most important entrepreneur was always third forth or fifth
Oracle founder spent a year fixing up his private jet and invites Steve to see it. Steve makes his plane even better.
David Gilson says geniuses come in several varieties. Conceptual innovators. Picasso was one
Sesannes wasn't first to market. He was 50 before he accomplished anything worthwhile
So work on being third.
What's in the next book? It's about hardship and how it shapes us. It's about Wilma Doerksen and the Mennonite culture of forgiveness that came out of centuries of persecution. It's about self made billionaires that walked to school barefoot.

She had half a dozen books about mother Theresa including lots of underlined parts
The poor need to be seen more than helped. She always helped and was taken advantage of. Her purse got stolen she did not get mad
She got the governor general's award and put it under her bed
She had a strong Christian faith.
The effects of her stroke shook her faith to the core. Even though she found no intellectual answer to her questions she kept trusting God.
Everyone appreciated her. She knew everyone by name. Sometimes she struggled with self confidence and other issues. She will always be an inspiration

Meeting House Church
www.themeetinghouse.com
Pastor Bruxy Cavey leads it now. They have 10,000 seats available each weekend. They simulcast to 20 locations.
Started by Craig & Laura Sider. Affiliated with BIC Brethren in Christ they support the efforts of Mennonite Central Committee in Africa.
The Great Co-Mission
Part 3 Motivation. A. Hell as motivation for evangelism
B. Biblical motivation. C. Keeping Christ central
One Roof at Brampton Powerade center. Hot DJ to dance the night away.
The Simpsons slept through church and then they found out the apocalypse had just happened.
Hell is never used as an evangelism motivator. Math 28:18 why? All authority has been given to Jesus. Shared in the rationality of the God head.
Jesus is the authoritative Word of God.
People who have doubts are the founding disciples.
Evangelism is not primarily a rescue mission but a reality mission.
In the beginning God... not gods. Poly theism tends to be more peaceful. Ps 91 for great is the Lord. He made the heavens. There is only one reality. For everyone... a loving God. He is good for everyone. Compassion... Christ's love compels us. Luke 15 has 3 stories. Lost sheep coins sons have less value. The gospel is about Saved from our sins. Not just the consequences of sin.
Jesus and God's love is more important than Hell. Good things don't need threats to be appreciated. We follow Jesus. Not the Bible. The gospel is is the ultimate good news.
People who aren't interested in the good news won't be motivated by the bad news of Hell. Honey I love you. I have a gun and you love me me right? Will you marry me? If you say no I'll shoot you! Is that the kind of love you want?
The old testament God, is he different than the new testament God? A physical kingdom vs a spiritual kingdom. Great thought I don't know but what I do know is... is always a good answer. Everything has to go through the Jesus filter. Bring the answer back to Jesus. I'm a Jesus's disciple. I follow him.
Luke 15 challenge. Find the lost. What would it look like if you always looked at everyone as very valuable someone for whom Christ died. We always run the judgement tapes that are so unimportant. Think about the challenge. Retrain your mind to pray "help me see people the way he does."

Michelle - the other sister. Deb was a travel movie maker. She was a Jets fan. We will never know what happened to her.
She was our researcher. She was there for us.
Her kids reflect her qualities. She was a wonderful mother.

Ray:
She was the iDeb. Always enthusiastic.

Titus 3
Be still and know that I'm God. That can be hard to do. Draw Me Close to You help me find the way bring me back to you
I am going to the river Lord I want to meet you there. Find life beyond compare.
where are you at? God works in mysterious ways. Favorite prayer: Lord I believe. Help my unbelief.
My heart's heavy this morning. But be reminded God is here. Bow your heads. Let's sing this song again? Are you willing to ask God to bring you to the river? To surrender every care? Precious Jesus I am ready to surrender every care.
Message:
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, - Titus 3:1
The world needs leaders who stand for the truth. We have a desire for God to lead us to good deacon couples.
Noah was a just man not perfect. Blameless and upright. He feared God.
This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
Solomon had 700 mother in-laws. That was his downfall. We need to remember to be faithful in every part of our lives. Support of the spouse is so very important.
The not list. v 7 not quick tempered not wine bibber.
The for list. Phil 4:8 The pure the lovely sober clear headed holy. If you seek to be holy the rest will fall into place. Holding forth the Word of Life. That's the most important part of the job description. The spiritual advisory board.
If we expect perfection we're in trouble. You O Lord know our hearts. We need to be in prayer about who God wants as deacon couple of this church.

Made for More: Reaching Out Together
www.Eastview.com
188 Princess Street our downtown campus will host Police and pastors prayer meeting once a month.
Next Sunday is dine together Sunday. Please take some potatoes with you for that meal.
Songs today
Dave Ens:
There must be a reason why we have come together as a community.
1. John 17 the high priestly prayer. As I was sent do send I you. That's at the heart of what it means to be a church. We are sent to show the world who God is. We are ambassadors, representatives for our home country. To reflect who God is.
How did Jesus see people? Not like everyone else. In the midst of a crowd he saw the woman who wanted to be healed.
Why is that so hard for us? We think that we should be out there attracting people, trying to convert them. We say look at us. Jesus saw them and had compassion for them. Mission springs from passion, the bowels, the gut. Jesus said I can heal that.
When we experience something good we have to tell someone. Jesus showed God. Conviction comes from experience. He loved us enough to know he had to become like us to reach us. We may not be that interested in seeing like Jesus saw.
If we lack conviction we will be 1/2 hearted. We need to see ourselves the way Jesus sees us. Behold how much love the Father has gifted us to make us children of God. We will see him as He is. We have been MADE sons and daughters of God. God's love makes us his children. You are his child or not. There is no half way. No maybe.
Mennonites have a hard work ethic. You are born you work and you die. You can have your coffee break after you die.
In pagan culture had the idea that the gods made humans so they could do the work the gods didn't want to do.
To all who received Him he made children of God. When you are adopted you have the same rights as the rest of the family. As children you have the same rights as Jesus. Access to everything the maker of heaven and earth has. My child has more access to me than my spouse. Your father responds to your needs. No matter what. A son would be raised by a nanny and then learn the trade from his father. Observing. Working alongside daddy. Following His agenda. Listen to Him and follow His agenda. Then we will see God as he is.
I can't not share the good news with you my neighbor. I'm imitating my Father. As we work alongside God we become like him. What is your conviction? What is in your bowels?
Communion.
God saw what we needed and he gave us the symbols of HIS LOVE. His blood His life. May it bless us as we eat and drink in remembrance.
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. It makes me white as snow.
Tears.

Wednesday is Colers of Hope study
We will sing sing sing and make music with the heavens
Jesus our hope living for all who wish to see. In history you lived and died. We believe. you are the light living for all the world to see.
Jesus Messiah became sin for those who knew no sin. All our hope is in you.
Holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty of all
I will adore you.
In Christ alone my hope is found here in the love of Christ I stand. Here in the death of Christ I live bought with the precious blood of Christ.
Delbert Enns pastor
Potatoes. You are part of a sack of potatoes. We will do something with them yet. God has a plan for you. We are all different. We live community.
I grew up in Paraguay. People got tortured. That's why I moved to Canada.
Che was a reformer and people followed him. I met the greatest reformer ever. Jesus is the soul reformer. I'm passionate about that.
He is the one who brings hope to every human being. Spent 20 years in media. Social reform comes through belief in Christ. His church is his conduit for change. Be witnesses all over the world. Acts: the believers listened to the apostles and each day more people were added to the church. By 300 A.D. 25,000,000 people were living the Christian life. Give me your heart, God says. It took 10 years to become fully committed to ministry. We don't have it all together and that's why we need community. I did it my way is the national anthem you don't need to rise for. That's our culture. Do it your own way. We honor those who are self made people. That is not God's intent. You are made for community. Transformational community.
Truth
Social change happens when we
Walk together in faith and let your living show it. Spill it out. Walk and talk together. Listen to someone's heart. Don't walk alone. Geese fly in formation so they fly 71% further. That's community.
We invited the neighbors kids and they accepted Christ and then the mother decided to come too.
We are Eastview COMMUNITY church. Let's be community NOW! Be part of a small group. Mingle invite someone for lunch coffee supper. Live out the love so others will feel it. Start with love.

Leaning on the everlasting arms
O how height the path
Safe and secure
What have I to dread
You are good when there's nothing good in me
You are peace when fear is crippling
You are God in control
I'm running to your arms
The riches of your love will always be enough
Nothing compares to your embrace
My heart will sing no other name
My saviour lives my saviour loves
Pastor Del Enns
God is always there for me
This is the beginning of the new church year
Don't miss the next few Sundays
You care about the people around you. what you hear today will impact the test of your life
1. No one will last forever. You are not the energizer bunny. There is only one life. You May be overwhelmed.
2. Practice for eternity
We were created for God's pleasure. Get along with everyone.
Worship God
Serve him living out the purpose God has for you. Can we imagine being part of a sack of potatoes. You are made for so much more! Remember Mr Potatoe Head born in 1952 as small parts in cereal boxes.
What would artists do if they tried to make it represent you? What can you do with a potatoe? You were created for a lot more.
What are you doing here ?
Thinking
Momentum
Body
Thinking. What does that mean? God created us for community. Marriage and church are created by God.
All of you together are Christ's body.
We cannot fulfil God's purpose for us alone. We belong to each other. Reach out and touch someone. Choose to love each day starting NOW!
How? Learn to hangout, eating together. Talk to someone.
Have food together. Start now. Invite someone for lunch TODAY. Longing to be together is important.
Join together with others. Join a Caregroup.
We have hundreds of volunteers in this church. Are we ready to embrace more community? Pastoral care needs to be enlarged. Let love be your highest goal. He has given so much for you.
Let's get going and connect.
All staff to the pastor's house for lunch today!

The New Normal
When God's standard becomes my own
1 Peter 1:16
Matthew 7
Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me
Every one struggles with prayer. Why is it easy to spend hours watching tv? So hard to pray? It is a battle. We need to be a church in prayer. A new building is great but without prayer we are dead.
1. Never stop asking. What is prayer? Matthew 7:7 persistent and expectant pleading to God. Never give up. Please? Please! That's how it starts? Lost cause? That's how prayer slips away. Knocking is persistency. Without you Lord I'm done.
Don't give up. It matters. Start pounding on the doors of heaven. Prayer for a lost son was answered this week. Pound on the door of heaven. Expect answers. It is not an empty door. Call and God will answer. The Lord is near. He is there. Listen to God. Prayer is an urgent matter. It is s lifeline.
2. God never stops giving.
If your son asks for bread you give it to him. We are evil, apart from the will of God, and we give good things. The perfect God gives perfectly.
Praise the Lord. Prayer doesn't change God? Not his nature. But God changes his actions in answer to our prayers.
Not every prayer is answered. Sometimes there is silence. Pray according to God's will. Ask for bread and fish. When kids ask for the wrong thing will they get it?. A stone? A snake? No way! I give you good things. What you need.
Pray for holiness. Pray for God's glory. Growth dependence sanctification mystery
V11 God gives what's best for you. When the pain is so deep, sickness, etc. Is that good? I can't tell you why that is good. Jesus's prayer was not answered. He knows what unanswered is like. We are here today because of the unanswered prayers of Jesus.
God I look to you know just what to do. I will love you Lord my strength. Hallelujah our God reigns forever all my days.

Worship at Star Wars
James Arnold Taylor, voice actor:
Prayed before the show yesterday. Got DNA test on daughter's birthday. It did not match his mother's husband's DNA. How devastating was that? After being a Christian for a number of years he lost his identity.
I prayed and asked God to complete me. I make too much money doing funny voices. I can only do this because God is allowing it. God is there guiding us.
He found out that his biological father was dj and a voice actor.
Moved 41 times in his life. Now lives in a perfect house with a loving wife.
Trust God. He is real. Every prayer has been answered. Every day I trust him to take care of me.
I'm a mess. Grab what you have. I'm here because of God.
I was literally born in sin. But God will take and make something beautiful out of you
Songs:
O how he loves us!
4th day buttons are available.
Pastor Steve:
Greg organized this event. James connected us to a youth pastor. Worship leader volunteered. God has brought this all together.
Not an expert at anything. I'm an idiot. Dropped out of college to work at Dairy Queen. Fat guys do funny falls. They make good comedians. He used to go inhale helium so he could talk funny.
Anikan was a mess. In the end he throws the emperor down the shaft. Luke wants to save him but he says you already have. Darth Vadar shows up later. When Anikan became Darth Vadar it did not change hIs ultimate destiny. We are not bound to our past. To our inability to connect to God perfectly. God causes things to work together for our good.
V37 neither death or anything else can separate us from the love of God. Failures are painful. They hurt. God loves you. He has the answer.
Two years ago my life fell apart. But no mattter what you've done God loves you and is there for you. Christ came to take your punishment. You just give yourself to God and he will help you. Jesus take my life and make me whole.
Thank you Jesus for what you've done.
Please sign the storm trooper helmet to let us know you were here.

FOUNDATION
www.eastview.org
Lift up a heart of praise.
Welcome. We had a great week of VBS. Yesterday's new baby Kylie Chandler is the new aunt.
Come just as you are to worship.
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness the solid rock. All other ground is sinking sand.
Story time. VBS was fun. Jump in faith is not always easy. We need instructions. Life is like that. We have an instruction book the Bible. It is not an ordinary book. There are all kinds of books written by one person each. The Bible is written by many people over many years. Paul wrote a lot of letters including one to Timothy. Paul said there is life in the Bible. What does that mean? God inspired the writers to write what they wrote. If you are ever bullied you can read the story of Daniel and the lion's den. Jesus wants to be your friend and help you.
Holy words long preserved
They resound with God's
Ancient Words ever true
Changing me changing you
Oh let the ancient words impart
Holy words

We bought a new building for the homeless to call home. We are looking for donations to help these people settle in.
A man built a house on sand. It collapsed on him.
Foundation of faith. Jesus' birth is a miracle.
The Bible points us to the foundation of our faith.
When you came in you got a Bible. Find God NEW TESTAMENT. Pray for someone and give it away.
Isaiah says God's Word will bear fruit.
FOUNDATION
Go to page 141 John 1 his word brought light to everyone. Read the book of John. The Word is powerful.
Nature has an instinct. Geese are getting ready to fly south.
God is inviting us to cooperate with him to bless people. A river flows purest from its source.
Page 267 you know you will suffer. Many died for their faith. Remain faithful to what you've been taught. Be prepared for every good work. Paul was soon to die by getting his head removed.
Grandmother was a wonderful woman. Always hospitable. Working on the street helping the down and outers. One day someone hit her on the head with an axe. When she was ready to go back on the street grandpa asked her what she was doing. Going back to help my boys. One of them tried to kill you. They wouldn't do that if they knew my JESUS.
The Nicene creed was drafted in a giant ecumenical meeting.
The truth for salvation is in the Word.
READ IT. Olive do you believe God exists? Yes I talked to him this morning.

Indescribable uncontainable you see the depths of my heart and you love me the same
Mrs. DeSilva and Number one daughter Miss Jessica Children's story: Don't worry be Happy Now.
Paul said dont worry
Where is God when bad things happen?

Pastor Del:
The importance of understanding Christ.
Phil 3:10-11 I will experience the resurrection from the dead.
How we respond to the dark moments in life determines our approach to Christ. We have a culture of pain avoidance. Frodo was ready to give up when Sam told him shadows and darkness must pass.

1. When do You grow spiritually? When Suffering
How to handle adversity - Charles Stanley
If it were up to me I'd rather hide than let people know I'm suffering
Christ has brought us into his love.
How can I speak to the suffering? We have seen our Olympic champions in pain and joy.
To suffer and say this is a glorius time is a mystery
Derek Redman finished his race in spite of major pain. His dad came to help him finish. Every one stood to cheer him to the finish line. He was a true Olympian.
Finish your race No matter the pain. God will redeem you in the pain. Finish finish the race.
Live up front with your faith. the father runs across the finish line with us.
On Easter week end we commemorate dark Good Friday - what happened Saturday? Letting go. Reflect as you suffer through the Saturday. Sunday is coming: you will not be disappointed.
Jesus crossed the divide for us.

we need to internalize that
Tim, children's story:
