Jim Bell was President of the Blue Bombers. In October he ran for parliament. Felt it was God's calling. Lost. Felt the journey was over.
One night they were walking, campaigning. Helen had a tough time keeping the pace but told him to keep walking. Learned a few non linear things. Not much grows at 12,000 feet. It grows in the valley. Trust God. You'll find your identity.

Ephesians 4.11
It's time to grow up.
Growth is not flashy. Slow behind the scenes. What does the church look like? You'll reach the measure of the full stature of Christ.
What if you aged but never grew up? In our early years we are consumed by ourselves. The world is you. As we age our perspective changes. Relationships change. You find love. With someone different. Encounter tragedy. Life is not about me. There is more.

They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance in them due to the hardness of their heart. Since they are past feeling, they have turned themselves over to indecency for the practice of every kind of immorality, with greed for more.
You can't live selfishly. Grow up. As a follower of Christ certain culturally acceptable practices must be discarded.

However, you did not learn Messiah in this way— be renewed in the spirit of your mind, So lay aside lying and "each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another. Get rid of all bitterness and rage and anger and quarreling and slander, along with all malice. Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other just as God in Messiah also forgave you.

The life we live should be in Grace. Not to absolve ourselves and continue to walk in sin. Be inspired by God to walk with him.

We need to get rid of things and allow God to grow my garden. The Spirit creates a God recreated character in us. We don't become good so we can get God. The negatives are cast off to make room for God to work in us.

We are anchored by prayer to hold us together.
