John. Relationships

Last Sunday justice
The book was written to the gentiles. Logos the Word Jesus was from eternity.
Because of sin and brokenness we are separated from God. Grace.

Relationships
The way people interact with each other.
We live in a culture of democracy individualist. What is in it for me?

Who was the disciple Jesus loved. The author John

One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table at Jesus' side, so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus of whom he was speaking. So that disciple, leaning back against Jesus, said to him, "Lord, who is it?"
John 13:23‭-‬25 ESV

I'm in love with Jesus John said.
John and James were brothers. They wanted a special relationship.
And they said to him, "Grant us to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your glory."
Mark 10:37 ESV

Jesus redefines relationship. James died as a martyr. John died of old age in exile.

John adopted Jesus's mother at the cross.

John wrote love 25 times. Love to know God. Sacrificial love. That's the essence of God.

How do we build healthy relationships? We were not in sacrificial love. Now we love more than ever.

John recorded Jesus prayer for us. Ch17

Jesus loved the world to his very end. Not perish. Jesus loves me.

He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, "Do you love me?" and he said to him, "Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep.
John 21:17 ESV

Follow me, Jesus said.

Challenge. Love one another. Lay down your life.

Forgive. At the cross. Find healing.
