Rom 12
Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice – alive, holy, and pleasing to God – which is your reasonable service. Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect. Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.
Romans 12:1‭-‬2‭, ‬9 NET
Dehee Haust was a missionary in China. Everyone has forgotten him.
Others are sacrificing time and effort to reach others.
Live to be forgotten. For the joy of serving Jesus.
Be in a healthy relationship with Jesus. Highlight the word therefore.
Chapter 12 begins with therefore referring back to the chapters before it.
Our body is not ours anymore. Sacrifices were the killing of animals. Christians need to consider themselves sacrificed. Living sacrifices.
Reasonable service. Reasonable logical spiritual.
Your Mind Matters by John Stott if it's spiritual it's also logical.
Worship = service. True worship cannot exist outside of active service to God for the benefit of others.
Worship often means a good musical time. If that's all your worship is it's not worship.
Give yourself away in service to others.
Present your physical body to God.
Pavle would lead people to sing a simple song in their own language. Then all nations sing together. His people his body.
Some of us think that God is lucky to have me in his followers. None of us are self sufficient spiritually. The River church was teaching self sufficiency. No gospel.
What's our task? Go and reach the world with the gospel. That the world may know Jesus is Lord. Live to be forgotten. Find your life.
