The Sermon from Jesus

"Do not judge so that you will not be judged.  For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive.  In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.
Matthew 7:1‭-‬2‭, ‬12 NET

Had to challenge some exams at Providence. Got a job in BC but not pastoral position. Felt judged.
We don't like to be judged. If you've been caught for speeding there is a sinking feeling of being judged.
Accountability. Wouldn't it be nice not to have rules to follow? Judgement is God's job. To call someone a jerk is to be judging just like God. The standard is Christ. We'll never meet that standard. Jesus says don't be a hypocrite. Look at yourself to make sure you don't have Beam in your eye.
We'll see face to face in eternity.
Ray Friesen is a mountaineer and should be dead by now. They slid down a mountain chute and almost crashed into a crevice. A rope team helps mountaineers survive in difficult terrain.
Repent for calling someone a jerk.
Be in a rope team in church.
Pigs and pearls? What's that all about?
2 ways to miss the point.
1. Judge to control the truth to you. U B U?
2. Take the splinter out of your neighbor's eye without regard for what I do

Jesus invites us to a better way. Look at fruit. Who's on your rope team? It starts with your relationship with Jesus.

In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfills the law and the prophets.

Jesus replied, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 NET

Accountability comes:
Prayer
Community Life Group
Obedience. Walk with Jesus in the rope team.
Rob was my coach to becoming a pastor. Delbert is my accountability. Matt is also part of my rope team.
