Eye witness: Zaccheus

God is able he will go before us.
Then sings my soul my Saviour God to you. How great you are.

Luke 19:1-10 Zaccheus was a rich guy that climbed a tree so he could see Jesus. He gave half his wealth to the poor and refunded over paid taxes.
Our lives are changed through an encounter with Jesus. Change always takes place.
What does that change look like? Zaccheus was a Jewish tax collector. A border tax collector? Charging whatever amount he wanted. He was rich before and able to buy the tax franchise from the Romans. Now he was really rich. Very unpopular traitor helping the Romans. He was short but able to climb a sycamore fig tree. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ficus_sycomorus

He probably had no intention of inviting Jesus to his house. He just wanted a sneak peek. He had no intention of meeting God face to face.
Are you hiding from God?  Leisure?  Business?  No time. Just climbing a tree.
What's your sycamore tree?  Jesus is looking up your tree asking to have supper with you.
What do I do now? What's my purpose in life? Come down to see Jesus. Say to him: I will!
The son of man came to seek and save the lost!
Zaccheus came down joyfully. Jesus speaks joy into you. No grumpiness allowed.
The world needs to see the transformation. Confession comes easier. To be healthy in relationships we need to confess our faults one to another.
Live a life that reflects the God you worship! The God who got nailed to the cross for us.
God came to seek and save the lost.
3. Zaccheus gave money to the poor. Take care of those who can't help themselves.
