Made for more! Community with purpose

Wednesday is Colers of Hope study
We will sing sing sing and make music with the heavens
Jesus our hope living for all who wish to see. In history you lived and died. We believe. you are the light living for all the world to see.
Jesus Messiah became sin for those who knew no sin. All our hope is in you.
Holy holy holy is the Lord  God Almighty of all
I will  adore you.
In Christ alone my hope is found here in the love of Christ I stand. Here in the death of Christ I live bought with the precious blood of Christ.
Delbert Enns pastor
Potatoes. You are part of a sack of potatoes. We will do something with them yet. God has a plan for you. We are all different. We live community.
I grew up in Paraguay. People got  tortured. That's why I moved to Canada.
Che was a reformer and people followed him. I met the greatest reformer ever. Jesus is the soul reformer. I'm passionate about that.
He is the one who brings hope to every human being. Spent 20 years in media. Social reform comes through belief in Christ. His church is his conduit for change. Be witnesses all over the world. Acts: the believers listened to the apostles and each day more people were added to the church. By 300 A.D. 25,000,000 people were living the Christian life. Give me your heart, God says. It took 10 years to become fully committed to ministry. We don't have it all together and that's why we need community. I did it my way is the national anthem you don't need to rise for. That's our culture. Do it your own way. We honor those who are self made people. That is not God's intent. You are made for community. Transformational community.
Truth
Social change happens when we
Walk together in faith and let your living show it. Spill it out. Walk and talk together. Listen to someone's heart. Don't walk alone.  Geese fly in formation so they fly 71% further. That's community.
We invited the neighbors kids and they accepted  Christ and then the mother decided to come too.
We are Eastview COMMUNITY church. Let's be community NOW! Be part of a small group. Mingle invite someone for lunch coffee supper. Live out the love so others will feel it. Start with love.

Made for more! God's Vision for Community

Holy is the name of the Lord
BUT GOD
You meant it for evil but God
But God demonstrates his love
www.eastview.org
Leaning on the everlasting arms
O how height the path
Safe and secure
What have I to dread
You are good when there's nothing good in me
You are peace when fear is crippling
You are God in control
I'm running to your arms
The riches of your love will always be enough
Nothing compares to your embrace
My heart will sing no other name
My saviour lives my saviour loves

Pastor Del Enns
God is always there for me
This is the beginning of the new church year
Don't miss the next few Sundays
You care about the people around you. what you hear today will impact the test of your life
1. No one will last forever. You are not the energizer bunny. There is only one life. You May be overwhelmed.
2. Practice for eternity
We were created for God's pleasure. Get along with everyone.
Worship God
Serve him living out the purpose God has for you. Can we imagine being part of a sack of potatoes. You are made for so much more! Remember Mr Potatoe Head born in 1952 as small parts in cereal boxes.
What would artists do if they tried to make it represent you? What can you do with a potatoe? You were created for a lot more.
What are you doing here ?
Thinking
Momentum
Body

Thinking. What does that mean? God created us for community. Marriage and church are created by God.
All of you together are Christ's body.
We cannot fulfil God's purpose for us alone. We belong  to each other. Reach out and touch someone. Choose to love each day starting NOW!
How? Learn to hangout, eating together. Talk to someone.
Have food together. Start now. Invite someone for lunch TODAY. Longing to be together is important.
Join together with others. Join a Caregroup.
We have hundreds of volunteers in this church. Are we ready to embrace more community? Pastoral care needs to be enlarged. Let love be your highest goal. He has given so much for you.
Let's get going and connect.
All staff to the pastor's house for lunch today!

The New Normal

http://www.harvestoakville.ca/
When God's standard becomes my own
1 Peter 1:16
Matthew 7
Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me
Every one struggles with prayer. Why is it easy to spend hours watching tv? So hard to pray? It is a battle. We need to be a church in prayer. A new building is great but without prayer we are dead.
1. Never  stop asking. What is prayer? Matthew 7:7 persistent and expectant pleading to God. Never give up. Please? Please! That's how it starts? Lost cause? That's how prayer slips away. Knocking is persistency. Without you Lord I'm done.
Don't give up. It matters. Start pounding on the doors of heaven. Prayer for a lost son was answered this week. Pound on the door of heaven. Expect answers. It is not an empty door. Call and God will answer. The Lord is near. He is there. Listen to God. Prayer is an urgent matter. It is s lifeline.
2. God never stops giving.
If your son asks for bread you give it to him. We are evil, apart from the will of God, and we give good things. The perfect God gives perfectly.
Praise the Lord. Prayer doesn't change God? Not his nature. But God changes his actions in answer to our prayers.
Not every prayer is answered. Sometimes there is silence. Pray according to God's will. Ask for bread and fish. When kids ask for the wrong thing will they get it?. A stone? A snake? No way! I give you good things. What you need.
Pray for holiness. Pray for God's glory. Growth  dependence sanctification mystery
V11 God gives what's best for you. When the pain is so deep, sickness, etc. Is that good? I can't tell you why that  is good. Jesus's prayer was not answered. He knows what unanswered is like. We are here today because of the unanswered prayers of Jesus.
God I look to you know just what to do. I will love you Lord my strength. Hallelujah our God reigns forever all my days.

Worship at Star Wars

James Arnold Taylor, voice actor:

Prayed before the show yesterday. Got DNA test on daughter's birthday. It did not match his  mother's husband's DNA. How devastating was that? After being a Christian for a number of years he lost his identity.

I prayed and asked God to complete me. I make too much money doing funny voices. I can only do this because God is allowing it. God is there guiding us.

He found out that his biological father was dj and a voice actor.

Moved 41 times in his life. Now lives in a perfect house with a loving wife.

Trust God. He is real. Every prayer has been answered. Every day I trust him to take care of me.

I'm a mess.  Grab what you have. I'm here because of God.

I was literally born in sin. But God will take and make something beautiful out of you

Songs:
O how he loves us!

4th day buttons are available.

Pastor Steve:
Greg organized this event. James connected us to a youth pastor. Worship leader volunteered. God has brought this all together.

Not an expert at anything. I'm an idiot. Dropped out of college to work at Dairy Queen. Fat guys do funny falls. They make good comedians. He used to go inhale helium so he could talk funny.

Anikan was a mess. In the end he throws the emperor down the shaft. Luke wants to save him but he says you already have. Darth Vadar shows up later. When Anikan became Darth Vadar it did not change hIs ultimate destiny. We are not bound to our past. To our inability to connect to God perfectly. God causes things to work together for our good.

V37 neither death or anything else can separate us from the love of God. Failures are painful. They hurt. God loves you. He has the answer.

Two years ago my life fell apart. But no mattter what you've done God loves you and is there for you. Christ came to take your punishment. You just give yourself to God and he will help you. Jesus take my life and make me whole.

Thank you Jesus for what you've done.

Please sign the storm trooper helmet to let us know you were here.

FOUNDATION

www.eastview.org
Lift up a heart of praise.
Welcome. We had a great week of VBS. Yesterday's new baby Kylie Chandler is the new aunt.

Come just as you are to worship.
My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness the solid rock. All other ground is sinking sand.

Story time. VBS was fun. Jump in faith is not always easy. We need instructions. Life is like that. We have an instruction book the Bible. It is not an ordinary book. There are all kinds of books written by one person each. The Bible is written by many people over many years. Paul wrote a lot of letters including one to Timothy. Paul said there is life in the Bible. What does that mean? God inspired the writers to write what they wrote. If you are ever bullied you can read the story of Daniel and the lion's den. Jesus wants to be your friend and help you.

Holy words long preserved
They resound with God's
Ancient Words ever true
Changing me changing you
Oh let the ancient words impart
Holy words

Greg Armstrong and Lindsey from Saloam - giving food to the homeless.
Look at your home key again. It says you own something. Your space in the world. Feeding people delivers grace.
We bought a new building for the homeless to call home. We are looking for donations to help these people settle in.

A man built a house on sand. It collapsed on him.
Foundation of faith. Jesus' birth is a miracle.
The Bible points us to the foundation of our faith.
When you came in you got a Bible. Find God NEW TESTAMENT. Pray for someone and give it away.
Isaiah says God's Word will bear fruit.

FOUNDATION
Go to page 141 John 1 his word brought light to everyone. Read the book of John. The Word is powerful.
Nature has an instinct. Geese are getting ready to fly south.
God is inviting us to cooperate with him to bless people. A river flows  purest from its source.
Page 267 you know you will suffer. Many died for their faith. Remain faithful to what you've been taught. Be prepared for every good work. Paul was soon to die by getting his head removed.
Grandmother was a wonderful woman. Always hospitable. Working on the street helping the down and outers. One day someone hit her on the head with an axe. When she was ready to go back on the street grandpa asked her what she was doing. Going back to help my boys. One of them tried to kill you. They wouldn't do that if they knew my JESUS.
The Nicene creed was drafted in a giant ecumenical meeting.
The truth for salvation is in the Word.
READ IT. Olive do you believe God exists? Yes I talked to him this morning.

Pastor Del:
The importance of understanding Christ.
Phil 3:10-11 I will experience the resurrection from the dead.
How we respond to the dark moments in life determines our approach to Christ. We have a culture of pain avoidance. Frodo was ready to give up when Sam told him shadows and darkness must pass.

How to handle adversity - Charles Stanley
If it were up to me I'd rather hide than let people know I'm suffering
Christ has brought us into his love.
How can I speak to the suffering? We have seen our Olympic champions in pain and joy.
To suffer and say this is a glorius time is a mystery
Derek Redman finished his race in spite of major pain. His dad came to help him finish. Every one stood to cheer him to the finish line. He was a true Olympian.
Finish your race No matter the pain. God will redeem you in the pain. Finish finish the race.
Live up front with your faith. the father runs across the finish line with us.
On Easter week end we commemorate dark Good Friday - what happened Saturday? Letting go. Reflect as you suffer through the Saturday. Sunday is coming: you will not be disappointed.
Jesus crossed the divide for us.

Ever heard about the Ice Canopy theory? I read the book 50 years ago and it has always intrigued me. I phoned Henry P Friesen today. He is going to see if he can find that book in his library. I have not been able to find it on the Internet.

Living up front

My God is good
His wounds have paid my ransom
Hosanna Hosanna in the highest
I see the king of glory the whole earth shakes
God is the defender of the weak- we need to point the finger at ourselves
we need to internalize that
Tim, children's story:
What is faith? What are you going to do with that?
Take a jump? We all want others to like us. Having faith in a God you can't see can be hard to explain.
People tend to ignore crazy people. How many chapters are in the Bible? 1188 chapters. Do you have to know everything? No. Paul went all over the place telling others about Jesus. He ended up in jail for 2 years before he went to trial. When he finally had a chance to explain it all he told the king the story of his salvation. He stuck to his story. You can be a regular guy and tell your story the way it is. It can be tough when people call you names. Be honest about who you are.

Song:
You are good. When there's nothing good in me. You are peace you are the reason that I sing. Nothing compares to your embrace. You are Lord, you are God.
I'm running to your arms. Jesus my heart will sing no other name Jesus.
My heart will sing no other name. Jesus, Jesus.

Message by Delbert Enns:
200 million stars in our galaxy.
More stars in the universe than grains of sand on earth. And God calls them all by name.
how long? How wide?
A question someone brought up least Sunday was, why doesn't God have a name?
The spirit of God resides in us to help us understand God.
Jesus #1
Everything else follows that:
Work family etc
God can't really be understood. We can only grasp a glimpse.
Rejoice in the Lord, worship the Lord. Everything is garbage compared to knowing Christ. But he needed an encounter with Him before it changed him. Do you know what it's like to be forgiven? Has he changed you? Are you crazy for Jesus? Are you crazy about reality TV? Watching every episode? Wanting to become a celebrity? Do you wake up at 3 am to say I want to know Christ more?
Saul's religion was his number one value until he met Christ and then his old values became garbage to him. What do you value?
Exercise faith- get to know Christ better. Learn to listen and not shut down when you don't understand.
Do you look forward to meet Christ every morning? Do you live for that? Do you have garbage you need to let go of?

Testing the Samsung note pad

l have 14 days to try out this new PDA if I don't like it I can return it. The one requirement for me was handwriting recognition. This one has that.
The sales rep at the store said handwriting is no longer taught in school. lt has gone the way of the dodo bird. Only one phone has something similar to the CE Version of handwriting.
This is not nearly as efficient.
The new method Is called Swype
So here goes. l'm switching to swype.

When you write with Swype you drag your finger from key to key.it works ok.

What's the proper way to sing this song?
WE worship you
we WORSHIP you
we worship YOU
What's the proper posture?

Our God is greater stronger higher healer awesome power
If our God is for and with us what can stand against us?

I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned my soul Lord to you surrendered

Thank you Lord
Terry Lynne. Children's story. True story
How do we know that Jesus is who he said he is? Did Paul believe Jesus is God's son? Yes. He went to Athens and saw all the temples and statues. Including one for the unknown God. Paul preached to them about the unknown God. God is not a statue. He is too big. We have evidence that God is real in Jesus. He came back from the dead. Jesus rose so we would know he is God. Jesus is your friend. Jump and believe.

Living out front: Belief
Pastor Delbert Enns
We have been created for a divine purpose. No accident. Some have no idea why they are here.

What i believe shapes me. Used to own Precision Camara Repair. Used to believe the harder i worked the more successful i'd be.
Identities often get wrapped around the things we have.
Colossians - what Gods do we have?
the God of
Narcisism
Individualism
Selfishness

As Christians Christ is in you. Christ! No more no less! Jesus is everything. We tell others about him. All of us have that task. Present Christ is to co-exist with others to bring them to faith.
My agenda is often so fragmented.
If Jesus is #1 then our priorities change to forgiveness grace love hope healing. Take on Jesus' nature. Build relationships around the Lord's Comunion table.
As we share in the brokeness of Jesus we can help others.

Living Out Front: Purpose

If I do what's right will things be better for me?
Acts the story of Saul (Paul)
Did it go well for Paul? He got beaten and jailed. They sang praise songs to God. Then there was an earthquake and all doors were open. The jailer and his family became Christians. Because they were faithful this family was saved for eternity.

Bless the Lord O my soul Worship His Holy Name Sing like never before O my soul worship his holy name

Elton DaSilva: Living Out Front: Purpose - living on the front porch.
Too often we live in the fenced back yard. Have you ever felt like a pinball? Being bounced from place to place with light and noise.

When you take God out of the Big Bang picture life has no purpose. Put God into creation and there is purpose.
When we fail to read the instructions of the manufacturer we end up with holes in the wrong places. God has created us- his workmanship created for a person. A door knob is the key to opening doors. Be a doorknob. God who do you want me to connect to? to do the things God planned for you. When I lived in Brazil I wanted to be President of Brazil.
2. We need intentionality we think that if it feels good it must be from God. Even though things get tough keep going on the road God has called you to. intentionality Paul was called to go forward. Some of us are looking to much to our behinds or even worse to others' behinds. We need to look ahead to what God wants us to do and do it. When Paul was preaching this young lady kept saying here are servants of God. Paul got tired of her distraction from the message. He kicked out the evil spirit and he got arrested.

Goliath was insulting the God of Israel. When David asked about it his brother said why are you sticking your nose into this?
What is distracting you from the cause God called you to? Connect to the manufacturer and follow the cause He has called you to.

Living out Front

Pray for Jaqui Bergen and her family. Her dad passed away suddenly on Saturday.
Pray for Audrey Voth and others fighting cancer.
Congratulations to David Enns & Stephanie Bergen married Friday the 13th

Children's Story
Faith is believing something you can't see. Who are the bad guys? Saul persecuted Christians. He busted into Christians' homes and dragged them off to jail until God interrupted him. Blinded him. Then Ananias had a vision to help Saul regain his sight. He did what God asked him to do.
Now Saul's gang decided to kill Saul. The Christians helped him escape. But the Jerusalem Christians did not trust Saul, until Barnabas stood up for him. S(P)aul knew that he had done terrible things. The Christians forgave him. Paul could see God thru them.

Dave Ens www.Eastview.org
Summer theme. Saul who is Paul. Live Life in plain view on the front porch. Are you sitting there with Lemonade or shotgun?
Do you have REAL friends? Do things stand between you and real relationships? Facebook? We respond more to text messages than other media.

Simple Message about what God wants in our relationships. We look at each others' faces. Our primary tool of communication. Your Name is so significant. He knows my name. Greet each other by name.
He knows my face. He wants to meet us face to face.
Today we see God as in an old mirror. In eternity we will see Him clearly face to face.
Moses' people said you talk to God and tell us what God says. But God wants a face-to-face relationship.
We need to meet God face to face. Paul talks about the people in his life by Name. See the last verses of his letters.

Paul says truthing in love helps us grow in Christ. More than speaking. Embodying truth in life.

Mom's Obit

Elizabeth Dueck (nee Plett) was born on April 20 1924 to Cornelius R. and Maria K. Plett of Blumenort, Manitoba. Elizabeth was the third child in a family of 10 children and was the second of 2 girls born. From an early age it was clear that Elizabeth was an intelligent girl. Attending the one room school in Greenland until grade eight, she showed particular interest in grammar, spelling, and reading. One of her favorite books was Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe. This love of reading continued throughout her life. Even when unable to read in her old age, she listened avidly to books on tape or the stories read to her by her children and grandchildren.
Although the school teacher visited Elizabeth’s parents to request that they allow her to continue school past grade eight, duties around the house and farm took priority. Elizabeth’s main responsibilities included feeding chickens, sweeping, washing the floor, painting, and mending her brother’s clothes. In the summer, Elizabeth worked in the garden hoeing, picking gooseberries and cherries, as well as digging up potatoes and carrots.
Elizabeth was always a dreamer. Elizabeth said that during her youth, “I was dreaming of someday being important” and “when I read the story of Joan of Ark I thought maybe I could also be a good leader”. It was these dreams which led her to pursue nurse’s training in Winnipeg at the age of twenty-two. Elizabeth’s parents were wary of her decision as it meant she would have to live in an apartment in the city and quite far away from home. Even with her parent’s concerns, Elizabeth enrolled in the Licensed Practical Nursing program at St. Joseph’s Hospital (now Misericordia Hospital).  She enjoyed the program and did well in her studies. Upon her graduation in 1947, Elizabeth received the General Proficiency Award for excellence in her academic studies as well as practical work.
Elizabeth’s lifelong marriage and friendship with Willie Dueck began one day when the Plett family was invited to the home of Willie’s family. Willie recalls that “the first time I saw her, I loved her”. A short time later, they met again at a family wedding after which Willie gave her a ride home. Elizabeth remembers that she thought Willie must have made a mistake and could hardly believe that he was coming to visit her. After this momentous first ride together, Willie and Elizabeth continued to visit each other about once a month. The frequency of their visits increased over the course of their relationship until they saw each other about once every two weeks.
The decision to get married was marked with uncertainty for some time. Elizabeth was unsure whether it was time or not for marriage. She also knew that marrying Willie meant that a move to Mexico would be made immediately. Elizabeth stated that when she decided to marry Willie, she was ready to “face the adventure together”. Their wedding on November 21, 1948 was followed by honeymoon which was an adventure that would take them through Western Canada and the United States to Mexico where they would settle along with Willie’s family.
Shortly after arriving in Mexico, a medical clinic began in Willie and Elizabeth’s home. It all started when Elizabeth began giving medical treatment to a man on the colony who had had a stroke. Elizabeth went into the city to speak to a doctor about what should be done and was told to give intravenous medicine to the man even though she had not been trained as a LPN to do this procedure. As Elizabeth was fond of saying, “necessity is the mother of invention”.
Elizabeth continued to perform procedures and give treatments of all kinds, and within only a few months an informal clinic began in the family’s garage. Elizabeth treated all sorts of ailments and sicknesses including infections, cuts, fevers, and coughs. She also delivered countless babies and together with Willie kept a store of medical supplies which acted as the local pharmacy.
Although the clinic primarily served the Mennonites in the area, Mexican people were also frequently treated and in many cases, Elizabeth made house calls to Mexicans, becoming confident in speaking Spanish. When Elizabeth was not seeing patients, she frequently received phone calls from people in the community with health related questions.  With all of the time spent providing health services, life was very busy and sacrifices sometimes had to be made where other household tasks were put aside. This clinic set the foundation for medical services in the community and grew overtime so that it is now a medical hospital, continuing to serve the community.
In 1964 Willie and Elizabeth sold almost all of their processions in a large auction in Mexico and moved with their children to the Arborg area in Manitoba’s Interlake. Life again was very busy. Elizabeth reflected that there was no time for relaxation as there were “too many busy things to do and too many children wanting something here and there and everywhere”. Elizabeth was responsible for cooking, cleaning, washing, gardening, and caring for her children. She also worked side by side with Willie on the various businesses they started. First on the farm, then Vidir Lumber, and later Vidir Machine.  The employees of each business became part her extended family.

Elizabeth’s personal faith in God was an important part of the way that she treated patients and was evident in the way she lived her life. A nighttime prayer for each of her children and grandchildren was part of her daily practice. She was also a generous and hospitable host for family, friends, and anyone who happened to come by the house. She was always available to those in the community who needed medical advice. Along with her deep appreciation for nature, birds, flowers, and singing, Elizabeth taught many of us to take notice and celebrate the beauty present all around us. She had a way of making each person who she was with, feel special, valued, and loved.
Elizabeth had a keen sense of adventure and loved to travel.  She tried water tubing for the first time at age 70, and was never afraid to try something new.
She was also a woman who loved to give.  She loved deeply and till the very end she would often try to say the words “I Love you”, even when too tired for anything else.  She gave of her time, and her home was often full.  She delighted in giving candy to grandchildren and any other children that walked through her door. She wanted to make sure that every visitor would leave with some small gift.
For the last five years of her life, Elizabeth struggled with Dementia. Although this presented many challenges for her and those who cared for her, we also continued to appreciate Elizabeth’s boundless love and affection given through frequent kisses, tickles, and ‘I love you’s’. She also never failed to surprise us and make us laugh with her rye jokes and keen observations.
The legacy of Elizabeth’s love, faith, compassion, and intelligence will continue to inspire and move all of us, those family and friends who were privileged to have her as a part of our lives.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband Willie,

From the first Christian Church in Hawaii

(Notes as taken on iPhone)
The first christian church in Hawaii
Www.mokuaikaua.org kahu David de carvalho
The worship music was quite good
The Ohana choir sang Give me Jesus

The pastors message was the second In the series: roles within our family A mother's role (mudder)
God has assigned specific roles last week was about fathers.
Everyone has had a father and a Mudder
There are 2 kinds of trauma
Trauma A the absence of good things
Trauma B bad things
Pray that God will fill in for you the pieces that are mising in your life because your parents failed you
The mudder's role
1 she is your best friend
Pr 31:11,12 her husband has full confidence in her all her life
The passage from eph 5:21-24 is one of the most abused pAssages in the Bible. People read the part about wives submit but they forget that it starts with submit to one another. The husband should sacrifice himself for his wife like Christ did for the church.
All Activities should be evaluated _ is it In line w god's word? Is God speaking to me to my heart?
Manipulation of other is Wrong. Confront ungodly demands. God wants an orderly arrangement in the family. Look for input and shared decision making to govern the house.

2. She watches over the affairs of the household
There are many intelligent and successful women in our midst. They take care of things.
At age 18 as a new Christian David was approached by the Dean of Women to help start a new church. She felt God calling her to do this. She knew exactly what to do. That. Burch is now a bi church.
3. She is full of wisdom.
The woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. That dedication is a covering for the house.
Prov 8:13 she gives faithful instruction. See the story of Deborah. She was a prophet judge and leader. She told the military leader what to do. Get 10,000 men together and God will deliver.
In the story of Nabal (the fool) David was going to destroy all the men in Nabal's employ but his wife Abigail quickly intervened to keep David from murder. She was wise.

Sharing the love of Jesus with the people of Mauii that all May glorify God

Craig & Kathy Englert Founding Pastors

7/1/12
They have 18 events on the calendar, 41 birthdays, and 7 anniversaries this week.

Music WAY too LOUD! Good thing I brought ear plugs - this level of noise would NEVER be tolerated in a work place

Majesty majesty your grace has found me as I am
Forever I am changed by your love.

Song Leader said: I Spent the last 3 months in the dark night of the soul pissed off at God - God did not strike me dead. Just like Job
Had a Moment of clarity. Stop accusing and listen. God is sovereign. Trust that God is who He says he is. Even if we haven't got it all figured out.
Here I stand I found the greatest love the greatest sacrifice.
I found the greatest love of all

When i thought the worst was over they did one more

FREEDOM IN AMERICA

Testimonies of people from Iran, Congo how they were persecuted.

Celebrate July 4
My chains are gone I've been set free. My God my Savior has ransomed me. Unending love amazing grace

Pastor:
We are so blessed to live in America where we can argue about CNN vs. Fox News. Do we take that for granted?

Worship with all the generations together. "Tons Of" activity
Why do people say that? Do the activities get too heavy?

Offering song: Though Satan should buffet though trials may come It is well with my Soul. O the bliss of this glorious thought My sin has been nailed to the cross and I bear it no more praise the Lord praise the Lord o my Soul

John Adams wrote that July 4 should be celebrated in churches and Communities from sea to sea.

What Makes a Nation Great?

In a few days Americans will be celebrating 236 years.

Blessed by God in a way others only wished.
Christian heritage lesson today
What makes a nation great
Most time gone? Russia
Most people? China
Coldest? Canada

1. For the glory of God Columbus came to San Salvador (holy savior) he planted a cross.
2. Settlers came for religious freedom. Jamestown settlers plant esl a cross and worshipped God
the Mayflower Compact for the advancement of the Christian faith.
3. Government Patterned after Biblical Principles. 15,000 writings by the founding fathers. Primary source the Bible. 34% directly from the Bible.
3 branches of government. Not from history Plato etc.
From the Bible Isaih 53:22 to the Lord is our Judge (judicial), Lawgiver, (legislative) King (executive)
-Italy has had 54 forms of government in 230 years. -
Of the 54 framers were 52 were born again Christians.
28 episcopalian

Righteousness exalts a nation
Not measured by $
alexis tocqueville said america is great because the people are good - ardent churches

At one time the largest church in the world was in Hawaii
England sent their prisoners to america and eventually only 17% of the people went to church. The Jonathan Edwards started the great Awakening.
That lead to the American Revolution.

in the 60's they added Under God to the Pledge of Allegiance
After that prayer Bible etc was removed and there is
In God We Trust became the national motto in 1956 (56 years ago)
Most people don't know what it is anymore. Can you imagine a teacher reminding the students to remember that In God We Trust?
The top of Washington Monument has Let God be Praised Laus Deo

The U.S. Passport is a powerful document.
Pray Proclaim Participate
2 Chron 7:14 humble yourself and pray - pray the News - pray FOR the President. Revival in the churches
2. Proclaim the truth - we still have freedom of expression. Christianity is not the law of the land but shapes public policy. By free Conviction. Stand up and lead people to Christ and that will change their thinking.
3. Participate. Elect. Many people have died for our priviledge to mark the ballot. It is wrong not to participate.
As Christians - don't vote Republican or Democrat - vote Biblically. Vote for people who best express biblical values and strong morals. Make sure they have character.

Do it as a citizen of heaven. Make a difference for righteousness
Hope is a Christ centered church.

Renee's Memorial Monument

Seems like I never posted a picture of the head stone. It came as a sliced rock from BC's Sunshine Coast. It is Huckleberry Jade river rock.

Nephew Chad Preaches

at Morrow Gospel Church

on Marathon Sunday
Youth Group led service (Camp Songs)

Chad Reimer, nephew, YWAM, Beaver Creek Bible Camp 2012 program director volunteer.

The Joy of the Father

First time preaching for a while. Likes preaching while praying.
God takes us as we are and transforms us

Father's Day is quite a day. Have been in places where father cant be found. My dad and my brother in law are modelling fatherhood.

The Prodigal Son Story - the younger son transformed.
Luke 15:11 the younger son comes to his father wishing him dead asking for his share of the estate.

God knows how to win us back. The younger son thought he had all the best the world had to offer until he ended up starving in the pig pen till he decides to go back to his father, the one he rejected for forgiveness.

Chad worked at a pill factory and a machine quit working and he was conflicted about telling the boss or acting like nothing happened. It was hard. He told the boss and all was good.

The younger son eventually made the right decision. He went to his father and gave up control of his own life.

I need to surrender my life to Jesus. Give Him control.

The older Son is bitter and unforgiving and the father extends forgiveness to him. He is full of legalism. Out of touch with his father's heart he thought he still needed to slave in the fields. "Everything I have is yours"

Challenge today:
Go and find the lost. Minister to the lonely and lost people.
At age 14 at Beaver Creek Bible Camp - I remember the pew, the terror, and overwhelming peace of the joy of my Salvation.

There are many people out there looking for father love and there are many self-righteous people that need the gospel.

Thank you pastor Ralph for your encouragement

Faith and Extraordinary Works
Luke 4:5-6 Satan has authority. He offered to give that to Jesus the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.
The devil did not want Jesus to die a sacrificial death. Jesus beat Satan and gave authority back to the church. We are expected to now do extraordinary
works. The church is anemic and keeps ignoring God.
A. We don't accept his grace
By grace we have been saved- a gift of God. We have not earned salvation.
Grace is not God's unmerited favour. If you have a bad employee and give them free tickets for a trip -these tickets come unmerited.
Grace is power to destroy death. 2 Tim 1:8-10 God has that power. Christ has that power and he lives in us. That power is in us now. John1:16 we have all received grace upon grace. The same power that raised Christ is now in us. That's amazing. not just a little bit of power. Moses needed 10 plagues to free the Israelites. With mighty grace power he delivered you from the clutches Of the enemy. Not cheap grace. But the power of God living in you.
Rom 6:14 not just a forgiven sinner. He set you free. No longer cheating and lying. Set free.
his divine Power has given us everything we need. Don't receive God's grace in vain. We must practice accessing God's grace.
Suppose I'm a prisoner and tell the next inmate that I can set him free from his grey cell. Why would he believe it?
16% of Americans are of any faith. 16% of churches are growing. They are fire in your belly churches. the big soft floppy middle church is imploding
B. We don't grow our faith.
God does not respond to our needs but to our faith.
Canaanite woman kept begging Jesus but he did not reply. She did not give up. She said she deserves crumbs. Jesus said great is your faith.
Faith deeply believes God will do what he says.
Rom 4:20 says Abraham did not waver in his faith he reasoned God would raise Isaac.
God wants us to exercise faith

Suffering is not getting your prayers answered.
Don't wilt. Pray harder. Believe deeply. Take the enemy by storm. Every Tuesday is Prayer Summit.
God is waiting for us. Could it be that our faith will grow stronger than the early church?
